I just adore idioms,
They are weirdos,
Like me they don't mean what they say.
Like the other day,
I took a stray dog home,
Grandma is afraid of dogs,
She ordered me to take it back,
"I can't grandma!"
It's raining cats and dogs outside,
So Bruno has to stay with us,
Grandma opted to move out,
That dad would not allow.
Last week the teacher asked me why I was absent for three days,
"Sir, my great great aunt kicked the bucket,
I was punished, to stand outside the classroom  for the rest of the day.
Then, when mum blames the neighbours for anything amiss at our place,
Dad says, "You are barking up the wrong tree,"
As if mum is a dog.
How can there be a frog in my throat,
Dad pulling mum's leg,
And mum has a heart of gold,
Would it beat and pump blood.
Don't put your idioms in one basket,
You will get confused finding what they actually mean.
