I believe in the tower bells
They strike the hour without fail
They echo through hill country sunny dales
Through pecan arbors and woodland trails
On moonlit avenues
O'er the lakeside bayous
To the chorus of a thousand blackbirds
Through nightfalls wind chatter , twist and turns

Stuck inside my head
This is where I fled
I can't find my way out
The bars are much to stout

I scream and shout
I fling about
Searching throughout
There just is no rout

I'm stuck inside my head
So much is left unsaid
I've lost so many friends
In here there is no wins

Going round the bend
No one comprehends
Thoughts just condemn
Slowly sink and descend

I'm stuck inside my head
This is from where I bled
The bars were just to stout
I couldn't find my way out

There are many stars
On my one heavy blanket,
Outside the earth falls.
Dreams are constructed
Nightmares are real.

His horseshoe on the tree near
had slipped a nail again
Turning upside down
Spilling the little luck within

He thought about fixing it
But didn't want to rise in might
To get the ladder and hammer
And nail, to set things right

He had quit riding, late last year
Although he could, he had been
Stepped on across the back,
Hurt a little, and didn't want it again

Now, he would sit and rest
Wait patient, for the days to fade
Loving the moment of thought
Resting on the bench, in shade

I knew a neurosurgeon who rode bulls in college.  Talk about juxtaposition!  In my opinion, anyone riding bulls may need brain surgery!

The smell of rain precedes the storm
that looms out in the west.
The sound of distant thunder
causes racing in my chest.

The temperature begins to drop
as I begin to flee
Seeking shelter from the storm
beneath a lonely tree.

I cower there, although I know
this haven's a mistake.
I know this is a lightning rod
but that's the chance I take.

The clouds, like battlements,
now, tower overhead
Ominous...majestic...and
they fill my heart with dread.

Drops of rain begin to fall
and plop among the leaves
Followed my the icy hail
that toward my shelter weaves.

A branch has fallen near my crouch
and nearly I am crushed.
My choice to wait beneath the tree
now seems a little rushed.

I stumble out into the storm.
The rain is driving hard.
Lightning strikes the tree I'd left.
The trunk is black and charred.

How foolish was my little hike
in spite of warnings thus.
Stay at home when storms approach
or next time...take the bus
Really I was in my car in a terrible storm but it was very scary.
Stevie Nicks is telling me about her emotions after an argument with an old lover,
Her hearts still probably beating fast,
She's pouring them out like a faucet,
It's lone electric guitar underlining the loneliness of the song
But it is also one about hope

The lakes waves softly lap on the beaches pebbly bank.
The crickets out in force.
All is quiet on the lake front,
A vacation well deserved
