ten cents and a gift in my jeans
I knocked on her door
she was like the girl next door
to the stars on Hollywood
she was tv beautiful
that long black perfect hair
couldn't believe she asked me in
we sat around (I was nervous)
looking at each other a min
I saw her dog
a little chihuahua
sniffing for tidbits on the floor
had a cheerio
from breakfast had fallen between
my belt buckle and jeans
called chico over
petted his head gave him the cheerio
told her
how I loved pets

and he started ******* my leg
I was lost
and she laughed
brought out
a bottle of Cuervo
and we had the best three way
of my life
watching
Y Tu Mamá También
eating nachos
and I got the sweetest
goodnight kiss
that night

I wish it would
well rain harder
I wish that
the sky water would be salty
like my tears.
this way both could slide down my face unidentifiable
I wish the thunder was louder
just to help save me from my thoughts

I love how
well simply how
I'm walking to the beat,
crunching gravel to meet the sound
of my favorite song
even though it's no longer playing
I love that
the rain is blurring my vision
eventhough I couldn't see anyway
I love that with every step
I'm taking a shower
the rain provides me with good cleansing
I'm slowly scrubbing away every
remark, laugh, judge, scar and stain
and as my jeans, blouse, and shoes get wet,
I'm washing away some of this too
hidden deep within the seams

and yet some people wonder
why
why does she like the rain
well
It's not just rain
it's a friend
that I can talk to and actually leave with
a cleansed soul.

with a girl

him: Have you ever been with a girl?

No. I've thought about kissing her a thousand times. She had hair like cotton candy and her voice was like a nightingale. Whenever I was sad, she'd sing me songs and put my name instead. Her skin was so pale like snow and she hated the veins on her eyelids, the ones that looked like lightning crashing. I counted her freckles every night before I went to bed. She was the love of my life and she loved me unconditionally for Gods knows what reasons. And then I messed it up and left, because I got scared. When I begged for her back, she said no.

him: Have you ever been with a girl?

Yes. She had a narrow waist and long brown eyelashes. I kissed them before as she slept. She felt warm against me and I traced the outline of the ink on her back, the bouquet of flowers. And when she got high, I put her to bed and got drunk by myself. We ****** until morning and we watched the sunrise together, over the city skyline. She fed me wild strawberries and we shared the same cup of tea together. When I woke up, she was gone.

him: Have you ever been with a girl?

Yes. I met her in a club and I kissed her outside a supermarket. She devoted herself to me. Called me. Adored me. And I, selfishly, didn't give a single ****. I never responded and if I did, I was far away. My mind was never on her. When I finally apologized, she never texted me back. She said I wasn't her usual type and though I didn't say it out loud, I agreed.

him: Have you ever been with a girl?

Yes. She kissed me on the subway and gave me flowers. When I drank too much, she cleaned up after me and put me to bed. She still kissed me after. She was wild. Reckless. Looking for trouble and I ignored it. I adored every part of her. One day, she whispered I Love You to me when she was drunk. She never mentioned it again. Her eyes darkened over time and I came home to find only someone who looked like her. When she left, I wrote poems about her and burned myself. I got drunk every night alone. I continually slept on the bench in the park, just to be somewhere where we hadn't been. My heart was breaking and she kept smiling.

him: Have you ever been with a girl?

me: Yes.

him: That's hot.
Inspired by something I can't remember now.

Hannah my girl,
When you left the clock stopped.
You reached into my soul,
And extinguished the flame with your finger tips.

The wind ceased to blow,
The tides became idle.
Water holes tainted,
And the watching sun set never to rise again.

You would not like it here my love,
Emotions blow like barren tundra and regrets are plentiful,
as were our thoughts.

Nothing grows here nor flowers,
The trees weep constantly as do I.
The desperate ravage the earth,
But here I reside.

I will wait for you in these dark waters,
Until we hear the clock chime again, together.

You and I
Are careening
Through the open air.
Our colors are
Mesmerizing,
Marbled and spinning.

Loving you is
Watching a soap bubble fly.

Our colors swirl.

We're enchanting.

But I can't help it,
I'm holding my breath,
Waiting for that
Inevitable
