Blue speckled eggs fell from nest,
peppered the pavement with
splintered fragments.
I couldn't bear to see another thing break.
I never thought I could fall apart so easily
until the day I heard my ribs crack and snap like twigs,
my rejected heart forced out onto the floor.
I think of those birds now.
And how you stood there, arms outstretched.

Some safety nets look like hands.
And they hold me together better than my own skin.
But even hands have gaps between the fingers.
And I keep slipping through.
I keep slipping through.
Time and again
We kneel down
Before time
Illusionary bind
Within its span
Restricted
We give excuse
And swear
On past, present and future
Constraints
Won’t let us grow
For now
We accept, time
Maybe sometime
We will defy it
When the sun goes down
Your love dawns on me
Much brighter than the sun
Warmth embraces me
Your touch sparks the flame
And burns all night
In the soft glow
Warm touch creates magic
Our touch
Will be etched in the memory
Engraved in the heart
Shall be the passionate story
Your intense look
Thaws the frozen lake
It’s time we take a dip
Depths, where we find ourselves
Swimming with fervor
Moon bathes us with its rays
Smooth criminals on the prowl
Handcuffed with fate
No escaping now

Creep
Heartbreak.
It's something that cycles
again
and again.
Love someone,
love them too hard,
get heartbroken,
trampled on.
Take the time to get back up,
eat too many tubs of ice cream,
stand balanced on two feet.
You're up again,
finally.
You fall even harder this tim,
get hurt even more,
and the cycle continues.

What if we can change that?
What if we can stop the agony,
and things will be okay?
No more ice cream,
no more runny eye liner,
just a smile,
starry eyes,
entwined hands.
What if?
Dare I dream that maybe we could last forever,
and that nature's cruel cycle won't repeat?

A Salt Shaker Glass

*Just a folded piece of paper
In a salt shaker glass
Placed deep inside the cupboard
Hiding memories of the past

I would watch her as she'd take it out
To read the words it said
Then place it back deep inside
And slowly bow her head

She kept it in a shaker
Hoped salt would heal the wound
But each time she read the words inside
The pain would seem so new

That folded piece of paper
In a salt shaker glass
Was delivered from the courthouse
To set her free at last

A divorce from my father
Who had walked away from us
She folded and refused to sign
Till that day that I grew up

As I read that piece of paper
From the salt shaker glass
I thought of all she gave to me
And felt the love inside she had

Just a folded piece of paper
In a salt shaker glass
Placed deep inside the cupboard
Hiding memories of the past

A folded piece of paper
In a salk shaker glass *

The nomadic mind
seeks treasures
in the places forgotten
by others
tracing the lost path
under the debris of neglect
these eyes see
what the world neglected
the wandering
has brought me to solitude
where this place can give
I am not lost wandering
Everything
that
is
simple
should
be
made
simpler
