Hug
Have you ever felt
A compelling urge
To hug somebody?
To just wrap your arms around them
And never let go?
You just want to drop everything
And hug that person,
Touch them,
Embrace them.
You just want to be near them.
Forever.
No talking.
Just hugging.
Because you seem to say more,
Have deeper discussions,
When you’re in each other’s arms
Then when conversing aloud.

That’s the kind of bond
I want to have with someone
Some day.
Because the simplest of things
Speak louder
Than any words
Ever will.

"I want you to meet the guy I'm dating
He's trans- don't tell mom and dad"
Well, *******.
you plan to introduce him to a man who won't call him a him
Or respect his wishes
who will behave rudely unnecessarily
and a woman who will instinctively think there is something wrong
with his personality
that he can't 'just be satisfied with what he was born with'
and will think there's something wrong, abnormal, weird, gross
I hope he's a good guy
and I hope my parents grow a couple more tolerant bones
Before they meet him
because I'm scared for you and him
and I hope it'll be alright.

"God is love."
Is He?
Because according to God,
the love I feel is a sin.
It's wrong to feel so loved.
Is God love when I write love poems for another woman?
When she holds my hand,
is He love then?
An understanding God accepts all love.
Is God love?

Often think I'm odd
to fall in love--
a well too deep
to crawl out unscathed.

So I stay outwith
peeping inside the pit,
hearkening to sundry sounds
of infectious laughs--

jealous--

I too cheerfully fell
into affection's well.

How I was wrong!

We come to the lawyers table
With our list of demands
Both of us being careful
Not to show the other our hand
For years we played the same tune
But now it's a different dance
Wondering if we gave this marriage
Enough of a fighting chance

I start out by saying
You can have the dog and the kids
That gets your brain a-scrambling
As you pull out your own list
Can not help but wonder
How it all came down to this
After all the years of
Our perfect marriage bliss

I do have to say
I find it a bit insane
The way it is that we both felt
Exchanging vows and names
When was the start
Of this now our  wicked game
And why do we feel the need
Too cast on the other blame

Why is the love we had
Ending in divorce
Hitting a solid brick wall
In the middle of life's course
Can't think of anything
That is any worse
Than the love that we once had
Ending in divorce
I'm happily married... Just don't understand how after years of marriage
couples want to ruin each other.
