Boredom and extra time is by my side,
As cognitions dwell on painful events.

Historical and present moments eat up my thoughts,
Thinking how these circumstances can affect destiny.

Depression and anxiety kicks into gear when pondering fate,
Wondering if a secure future is bound for glory in my life.

In order to protect myself from the unknown riddles,
I must stay active with my body and mind throughout the day.

Letting the brain explore new ideas by reading books,
Or moving my muscles through an exercise routine.

Staying occupied due to hobbies of enjoyment is key to sanity,
Always making sure that I’m busy by activities which produce smiles.

When life doesn’t go as planned,
And nobody is to blame,
We tend to point the finger at God.

Blaming the almighty for catastrophe,
Losing all faith in God,
Rejecting the powerful from your prayers.

There are reasons why God enforces an action,
Sometimes we will see the bigger picture later,
And sometimes we won’t know until we are deceased.

Whatever happens to you in your life,
God always has righteous intentions,
Even when there seems to be no hope.

When we are offended,
Revenge is not recommended,
Even through harm was intended.

It’s a complex situation,
One that causes frustration,
But it’s best to form a foundation.

Do not fight the opposition,
Lead with strong ambition,
Take a stance with definition.

There is no gain with hostility,
Only leading to irritability,
So choose the route of responsibility.

With imperfections tearing us apart,
We feel like throwing in the towel.

Cruelty weakens the inner self,
Screaming inside for the intent to surrender.

Somehow, survival sets the will to live,
Providing the necessary strength to exist.

Because we don’t want to die,
The goal is to dominate the suffering.

Finding that second wind to endure the brawl,
Fighting all the way to the last round.

We usually finish the brutal battle,
Because life is too precious to quit.

When you feel completely hopeless,
The rain is pouring down heavily,
Even though it’s a beautiful, sunny day.

Misery totally controls your life,
You are unable to see any light,
And finding the right path seems impossible.

If you are capable of sparking an inch of hope,
From an outside source or within yourself,
It’s possible to say that existence can improve.

What you need to do is push yourself,
To ignite that small sense of optimism,
Fighting for a route to finally find pure happiness.

When misery dominates cognitions,
Morals travel to a foreign land,
Leaving logic to solve problems unassisted.

Guidance is challenging as thoughts think ruthlessly,
Trying hard to find the right perception,
But life always hits into hardships.

We want a solution back to meaning,
Where simplification from life seems to make sense,
A place that can be happier through our own ethics.

The return to principles starts with remembrance of purpose,
Recognizing the fight we have been struggling over,
As realizing goals will help discover people’s beliefs.

Craving that accomplishment so bad,
You can taste the glory of victory.

Fighting for a cause that you always dreamed of,
You are willing to climb the highest mountains,
And run through the fires which burn.

You know that the task won’t be easy,
But you put yourself through hell to achieve your goal.

You feel like you will crack on your journey,
But determination prevails by ******* up misery.

At the very end of the trail,
You will be standing tall at the finish line.
Michael LoMonaco Nov 2016
You run at full speed to the finish line,
But you keep falling on the ground,
Injuring your knee and pride.

Life continuously pushes obstacles in your way,
Leading to a feeling of throwing in the towel,
Sick of all the hurdles on the road.

Sitting with dark thoughts creeping up,
Scared of the negative outcome,
Which is the spark for getting up.

Once realizing that survival is the only option,
You grab a firm hold of your cloth,
And run with determination to reach the end.

In the moment of present day bliss,
We wonder if the next day will still offer wealth,
Hoping that tomorrow can still possess gold.

The journey to good fortune is an unpredictable path,
Like rolling dice in a game of chance.

The future holds no guarantees,
Leaving tomorrow a mystified puzzle.

Forget about the mystery of the unknown,
Instead, move with the currents of the ocean,
Continuing in stride with each flow.

Feeble-minded brains begin at youth,
Starting across bridges of developmental growth.

Family teaches us the norms and values,
Instructing kids to walk the proper line through discipline.

Educators preach the knowledge from books,
Lecturing the learned skills needed to reach logical paths.

Living is a continuous cycle of discovery that never ends,
Due to an overpass that leads to unlimited information.

Share your wisdom with the younger generation,
So they can evolve into wise people while minimizing mistakes.

Beauty is not based on gorgeous features,
And lovely appearances isn’t a contest,
But you feel great when well-groomed.

Whether you comb your hair,
Or you are clean shaven,
A good presentation boosts self-esteem.

Feeling happy with how you look,
Causing a chain reaction of positivity,
Showing optimistic behaviors that shine.

Looking like a model isn’t the purpose,
It’s about being pleased with yourself,
Displaying an image of confidence.

Learning morals from inexperience,
As young ones discover the path through mistakes.

Understanding life lessons by trial and error,
Comprehending wisdom after repercussions.

It’s a circle that keeps spinning until maturity,
Repeating errors that are uncovered by exploration.

Youths will defy authority figures with pure passion,
Or can perceive education as completely useless.

Once maturation has reached its peak,
We can usually see the ignorance of such a mindset.

To one day try to teach the right route,
Even through our children will follow the same trail.
