Hazel charms

Eve
forests green embrace my mind
the harsh branches look soft from the meadows behind
in fleeting moments birds shadows pass
and the trees move,
a hypnotizing dance
a melody’s whispering from afar
“the deeper the trees go the deeper they are”
i’ll try and listen to the songbirds warn
not to get lost in your hazel charms
He fed her with hands of plague,
and she embraced it with a heart
steeped in grace.
Falling sick, she wept—not from pain,
but in love.

blade meets silver scales,
flesh protests with fleeting thrash—
life yields to the sea.

plastic wraps the gills,
airless world beneath the waves—
drowning without fight.

carried far away,
a graveyard of shining fins—
nature's quiet plea.

On the wall sits a
Huntsman spider very still
Nothing to see here

with freezing paws, an icy purr
and bits of autumn stuck in his fur

Their grip yields to the cold wind
The elm knows their loss

Mycelium hair
frames her lovely face,
arms flung wide
in silent embrace,
fingers float
lilies uncurled,
peaceful she floats
slipped from the world

He asks me to buy him
cigarettes and drop them
off in the morning
before work,
so he can kiss me
before the day starts.
