Why is it, that we lustfully pursue others
Finding them in dark places.
Hoping they fill the empty spaces.
But they never do.
They only break off a little piece.
And as we leave never to return.
We are only more broken than before.
the air is heavy
with an unspoken desire
for his tanned skin
upon hers
a shady block
of warm breeze,
a dusty corner
and her back against it
- heaven.

gentle kisses that tasted like summer
now dot her memory
along with flashes of squinting
liquid honey coloured eyes
framed within lashes
that remind her of the sort of thing she'd like want to feel fluttering against her shoulder
first thing
on a sunny sunday morning;
a nose that she'd like to have nuzzled against the crook of her neck

all swatches of filtered sunlight
and unfamiliar hands
soft lips and hurried goodbyes
- imprints of a translucent yellow
Imagine if it cost your whole days
wages, just to feed on bread;

If external forces made you suffer
The indignity of debt.

Imagine if the war torn middle east
Had a minute's silence for fifty dead;

If Palestine,  Iraq, Afghanistan
Had a minute off for breath

Imagine if a days work came with
a twenty percent chance of death...

Now picture that scene in the Caribbean
Bathing, lounging, plunging, dancing

The preciousness of life it seems
is purely based on address.
A life is a life, do not mourn for the lost,
nor distinguish one over another; instead,
celebrate the time we have around the globe,
not just near but far away from home.
I looked up at the night sky
Every single star exploded at once
A storm of dust surrounded me.
I couldn't move,
I couldn't scream,
All I could do was stand there in silence staring,
Wondering if it would ever end.
A misty day,
On the way
We used to walk along
On sunny days,
This mist smells
Candy sweet
Like your wrist.
Then, I see someone
In the mist.
Try to catch up,
But soon,
She’s gone with scent.
