Sometimes at highs
sometimes at lows,
Striking hard
yet the life flows,

Never plan forever
the life moves in the loops,
Atop in love
followed by droops.

Come out of
the life humdrum,
Let the spirit resonate
with the drum.

Facing each other
clap and stoop,
A gentle hop
move in the hoop.

Come dressed up
making one hoop,
Let the music play
dance with your troupe.
Garba is an indian regional dance performed in group. At times with partner. Its performed in circles moving anticlockwise. Involves clapping and bending. It's nine days festival season here. Garba is done to offer prayers to deity Devi Durgaji. She is worshipped as the deity of power strength purity forgiveness peace love compassion ... the supreme mother. Dancers wear special attires and jewellery. I love dancing. I tried to establish anology with the life.

we make a rickety circle
and the beat takes us all,
bend forward, clap our
hands, sway this way, that,

a bow of arms,
twirl of legs, form
wings, furl, unfurl,
the body confined

in a twist of finality,
the world on a
swirl-round axis
and we curl to

where the planet
began its primal
dance, of scent,
step, musk, air...
The garba is a traditional Indian folk dance festival that celebrates nine forms of Goddess Durga. For nine evenings, especially in North-West India, people dance from evening to dawn to traditional music.

Meeting my love, as she slide onto my lap.
Her long and black, her body sweet and golden.
The day time flew and I seeking her again.
I wanted her as my African love...

She spoke to me in the most intelligent words, as the minds saw visions of us together and at war.

I wanted her as my African princess

The year rang and Valentine's cupid'd us she lays her heady shoulder.

The day, the night, the minute,  wants the second a day provides.

My need to hear her voice became I love you, simce her crown to met my knight in anger speaks of the will broken.

I wanted her as my African woman.

She loved me as a truthworthy man, the eyes to see, the words to read for I want all to be no more.

The relationship offered was the true scene of love as it is forever.

Not ever a man's touch but not ever touched.

While to remain forever untouched by any other.

I been knighted on her doorstep, I have wwatched outside the castle.

I screamed for my love as I have not learned how to live without my princess.
empty seas May 2018
swimming has always felt
like a sweet escape from my thoughts
focusing on the rhythm
of my arms and legs and lungs
working in sync
and all i can hear
is the splashing water

however
sometimes my anxiety learns how to swim
and i hear the voice in my head
you have things to do
this isn't productive
you piece of garba-
but
they're swept away by the current
until i have to dry off
but for the time
i have peace
style? consistency? editing? no, no, and nope

My favorite instrument has gone missing
A tinkling sound that has reached the hearts of many around the world
I cannot tell you how I lost it
I was dancing amongst the others
Dressed up in bright colors
Bangles clinking
Handmade garba sticks in hand

Have you seen them anywhere?
