I'm waiting for the sun to rise;
going to cut these worldly ties.
Remembering summer reveries,
The autumn chill, the falling leaves.

Look at how we both have grown;
change for all the time we've blown.
Remembering the winters snow,
the stars above, the ground below.

Lets atone for throwing stones;
we can mend the broken bones.
Remembering that spring revives;
brings new light to cloudy skies.
I want to wish all my friends, followers and fellow poets a happy new years. May the light guide you on whatever path you choose this new year. Thank you so much for all the love and support! Be safe, and awake to a beautiful tomorrow. :)

The Mysidian Bard
Felicity
extends her left arm
While casually yet carefully
examining the lit tip

Last cigarette
The fountains babble
and Martini glasses gather
like harbingers of doom

She's in a mood
As this year now draws
to its' inevitable close
Yet sheer beauty radiates

Out from in her
She draws attention
Knowing I think of another
by now at Canary Wharf

I fetch more drinks
A couple embrace
Kiss in what strikes me here tonight
as most illicit somehow

Illicit, yes
and us complicit
But secrets come too easily
in all my interactions

Felicities
Much more beautiful
with moonlight on their naked skin
than they appeared in the dark

Abstractedly
I touch her shoulder
As I touched in fertile summer
the fleshy, tender belly

Of another
Who did not love me
and was never Felicity
like this well-dressed girl tonight

So shall the next
as yet unlived year
bring more of this challenge
Imposters and intruders

To inner peace
Agents of discord
****** and killing a dreamscape
of a love that is settled

Felicity
Her eyes follow me
with cigarette between pink lips
that at midnight will speak truth.
She arched, and peeled
a red plum into my
mouth, including
the ragged pit;

though she had the charm
of a pumice stone, I did
not spit or complain.

Lynde Rose
A light by the hall,
A key under the mat,
An extra plate on the table
Habits
Have such a habit
Of not leaving,
The way she keeps watering dead flowers
Hoping they’ll grow back
Hoping that if she just keeps
Giving them what flowers need,
They’ll stop being dead
Can someone
Anyone
Tell her
They’re never coming back?
A birds song echoes throughout a chilly winters night
Flightless with an everlasting dream of the sky
A tune more beautiful than the dawning of a new try

A staunch ache a craving of a dream
Creating a delicacy
Sorrowfully gleamed
Moonlit distress paved in silver beams
A spotlight of romance
Held in high esteem

A love made up
Spreading wings once more
Torturous dissatisfaction dances with such allure
Habitually choreographing
A compromising score

A birds song echoes throughout a chilly winters night
Flightless
With an everlasting dream of the sky
