Kahlil Gibran
And a woman who held a babe against her ***** said, "Speak to us of
Children."

And he said:

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but not from you,

And though they are with you, yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit,
not even in your dreams.

You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you
with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.

Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;

For even as he loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that
is stable.

Is it too late to not love you?
To take back my thoughts, feelings too?
Because you are a terrible distraction,
Who leaves me without satisfaction...
Wish I could read your mind.

**Wow, I'm extra surprised this trended, it's just a text I sent him. Thank you all so much <3

New World

There is a new world out there
For people like u and me
A world where we won't be measured by fickle standards u see

A world where "love" means
Embracing the person whole heartedly
Where different abilities and minds
Melt and mould and become one

Where caring takes a new dimension
Where hope is forever new
Where the sun shines brightly each day
And brings promises anew

Where fighting the world does not drain you out
And you can say what u feel without wondering how u'll be judged

Where u can be childlike in your innocence
And maintain the purity of your emotions.
Where u don't need to twist yourself to fit someone's frame.

And where u can worship the Lord again
Where u can stand tall and proclaim
His love for all to see
And you know you'll be backed by HIM

Where u can trust ur fellow men blindly
Cause the one who sees
Knows your heart and feels
The truth of your words
Where externals fade before his gaze
Where liars need to fear his face.

Such a world beckons
So I say
Do not give up your loving
Do not give up on your friend
Do not try to fit in someone else's mind
Be yourself, your purest self
For that's what u were deigned to be
For If that's not what the Lord intended
Then his saving grace you'll see
Not making sense of late. Wondering how to go on. The struggle is deep, the journey long. Just some fodder for my fading soul.

Once upon a meeting by chance,
love at first sight,
An awkward conversation and an even more awkward goodbye.
And yet he got her number,
Somehow.

His memory of long walks in the park,
And how much she laughed at his jokes.
They weren’t even that funny
But she loved to stroke his ego,
And he, the sound of it.
A little sharp at the end,
But still so musical.
Somehow.

Her tale of forced coincidences.
Like how they both loved old movies,
And how they’d intentionally forget a second umbrella,
Even though, they both hated the rain.
And how cold her hands always were,
And his so magically warm,
Somehow.

A story of broken promises
Shattered hearts
And blood stained tears
They saw this coming
The ride was too fast, too easy.
Yet they stayed,
Somehow.

A tale of love sought,
Of love found.
A tale of love lost
Somehow.
