I think that I shall never see
A leaf as lovely without a tree
When it falls upon the ground
So gently placed to be found.
A child gathers it in her hands
Carefully places it on the sands
Hoping to grow a brand new tree
For all the world new life to see.
The last four lines had many interruptions (5 year old). Changed direction at least three times. Could not remember where it was going. The child was driving this one.

Ever hold a razor blade
That you couldn't use;
Find a six foot piece of rope
That couldn't be abused?
Ever buy a vial of pills
That couldn't do the ****?
Ever enter office buildings
Looking for a ledge;
Or walk across a span of water
Without stopping on the bridge?
Ever wade into a pond
Breathing like the fishes?
Anyway you think on
It,
You've delusional
Death wishes.
I hope the recent death of Robin Williams doesn't give anyone any ideas.

I want to walk out on my tin roof.
But I know I'll fall through.
Just like I want to help.
But I doubt you'll let me.
Just like I want to walk 2500 miles to see someone new.
But my feet won't let me.
Maybe I'll try the roof.

Oh
There are things that exist
inevitably
They come along with truth,
with a massive ball of emotions
One day you walk on your feet
under the blazing sun,
the next day, they hit you hard
death
growth
change
remembering
forgetting
committing mistakes
falling in love
getting hurt

You are smitten

And how ironic it is
that the word hurt stays the same
in past, present and future tenses
You were hurt
You are hurt
You will be *hurt
Did this during my 12nn class zzZ

Poets seem sad to me
Because we feel more
And we hold on tight
And when we hurt, we write

Our tears fall on paper
In the form of words
Thoughts in scribbled ink
As our hearts begin to sink

Other people's pain fades
And drifts away with time
But a poet's hurt will stay
There on the tear stained page
Not my best, but after reading a lot of poems on here, I wanted to write this.

Also desiderium: an ardent desire or longing; especially :  a feeling of loss or grief for something lost (From Merriam-Webster)

SILENCE

I once viewed silence
As a cruel thing
I once was scared
Of silence
Thats becuase it never
Spoke to me
Now when I sit
In my room and silence
Is all around me
It speaks
With the sound of speeding cars
Or even the sound of the breeze
It speaks to me
In ways words never could
And the loudest of them all SILENCE

I've been playing
With my epitaph
For years now.
So far, I got:
*I'm Sorry.
