MsAmendable Jul 2016
This is where the end began
Blood was shed and demons ran
Far beneath the pretty skin;
The frigid darkness lies within
MsAmendable Jul 2016
A boat sails from the fog
A lonely oar man emerges
from the choppy waves,
The distant dawn is as thin
as night is thick
MsAmendable Jul 2016
I saw it twice;
Once in your eyes,
Once in mine
A strange device,
You lose only love
To time
MsAmendable Jun 2016
Sleepily in bliss with you,
We turn and sway under the fullness
of the velvet stars for company,
Drawing warmth
from each other's embrace;
A moonlight waltz
MsAmendable Jun 2016
And the sun begins;
Hot damp rays which
Glow in the morning,
Glaze in the evening
And blaze in the afternoon,

And dusk begins;
of feathery air and fireflies,
Hot as firey amber,
Cool as a sea of Shadow
Growing long as day grows old

And the summer fire fades;
Long red rays dip below the sea
The cool blue air like water
Drips through the open windows
And sets cool hands on fevered flesh

The early
          Summer
                        Sets
In a blaze

     And night becomes the world
MsAmendable Jun 2016
Sighs on the trees
Planted where angels go,
Tremble like the leaves
That left so long ago

Sitting on my porch in the early morning
An Inca dove flew to a ledge where
A succulent had just been watered.
She sipped from the edge of the ***,
Cocking an eye at me occasionally.
After she'd had her fill, she didn't fly away,
But looked at me with curiosity.
What a cumbersome ugly creature she probably thought... large. Pale. Bound to the ground like a stone...

But why do we antromorphize the thoughts of wild things? Who knows their
Minds? Only God.

But I like to think that I had a connection with that Inca dove. She didn't fly away for a long time. But peered at me with such a lively interest. She wasn't even afraid as I got up to go back inside. Brave and beautiful are the untamed. Many would say God gave me a chance to look at her.
I'd say God gave her a chance to look at me.
