I search for you in everyone I meet
And I see you in every figure and face
No force alive would dare to
Tear me from your gaze
As every atom in me slowly, slowly,
Finds its way to you

I’ve viewed the faces of lonely owners
From the comfort of my keys
I’ve caught sweat and teardrops
In the late evening-
A glass of scotch on my soundboard
I’ve felt the caress of someone who loves a piano
In place of a woman
And with trembling hands,
You tell me what you used to tell her
With melancholy chords and irate crescendos
Your hands slowly retreat-
As hot tears fall once again

Let the fears rush in, the thoughts, the dread-
Let them envelop me, swallow me whole
I always rise above
For I am stronger, body and soul

Sitting on the rocks listening to the ocean sigh
Clouds slowly move like brushstrokes-
Passing over the sun and across the sky
The sun's sweltering heat and the icy water
Reminds me I'm alive

Up on the East Coast, a fog cast in bluish gray
The waves tinted emerald on the foam-licked bay

I danced with him on the Long Island shore
Till I was dizzy and he was sore
And when beams of light ricocheted off water, we laughed
My hips swinging in time with radiant craft

Swaying to the sound,  I've got nothing to lose
Our fingers entwined
I like how you move
