The rain desires nothing but begins nonetheless.
One drop falls, alone at first, followed
by another and another, until
the neighborhood windows weep.

Across the street, her husband turns
his palm to the sky, steps into the storm.
His black umbrella blinks awake,
like the hole he creeps through
when his wife is sleeping, when
the window is open and the sidewalk is dry.

It can’t be helped.

It desires nothing,
but the rain, with
a million hands,
ravages everything.
I have two faces, but I'm not two-faced.. just wait and I'll explain. Bipolar is my mental state.. in which I try to maintain. I'm either up or down, no in-between.. I have the highs and lows. Stressful situations weigh heavy on me.. my mind in need of repose. Black or white, no grey in sight.. not a happy medium to find. It's severe depression, or manic aggression.. or possibly both combined..

I prayed earnestly to heaven:
I desperately needed to improve
my means of earthly  communication:
it took a long time to get through.
Then a voice boomed out of clouds:

"All our Deities are very busy -
you're call is important to us. Keep
on praying - we will get back to you."

My problem with tomorrow is
Not foretold by the sky.
It’s not the Autumn morning rain
That comes, and pours, then dies.

My problem with tomorrow is
Not poverty or war.
It’s not the type of moving fear
That braver men stand for.

My problem with tomorrow is
Not quite a fear of death.
It’s not a fear of knowing which
Will be my final breath.

My problem with tomorrow is
The same as everyone’s.
My problem with tomorrow is
Tomorrow always comes.
My first attempt at written poetry.

A wish is lost
In an instant. Outside
The street that never sleeps
Festers below sheets
Of bitter rain. Your eyes burn in

Words you cannot read.
Concrete shimmers in the
Gleam of a million tears.
The sky above is thick with years
Of tar, like an enormous pavement.

Eyes shut, but still
Blue light permeates the
Shallow barrier of your hands,
Corruptions of sin, and fear,
And silence. You try to scream, but
You do not know how.
A poem about corporate control.
#2 in the Distant Dystopia anthology.

When read enough times
A paradox you will find
Hidden in plain sight
Half joke, half truth. Half me, half you.
