planting and then digging up the past
like grasping hands of shattered glass
scattered patterns come back fast
an attachment to the splattered mass

blackened fragments of first and last
spattered paths that lead right back
stabbing agony that will never pass
shackled to the everlasting black
Strange enough but once I felt
it poured down from the sky
poured down on me, sliding
through my hair, it dripped
in the joyous company of naught.

It took away my heart
that had dried its every beat,
in a silent shiver due to cold,
my peace dewed me again.

I realized it's important to fall like rain
to seep into an ocean again.

There you go again,
Sprinting through 300 and some days,
On your way to find the time machine.
Twenty years spent trapped inside a
Toy chest featuring constricted breaths.

I'm sorry that any of us ever got older than eighteen.

I see you,
Not by reflected or absorbed light rays,
But by the way one soul sees another.
I feel you,
Not through touch but emotion,
By the way your heart carreses mine.
I hear you,
You whisper tender things to keep me going,
And you angrily object whenever I fall.
I smell you,
Your scent in my truck, on my clothes,
It clogs my pores and I am an addict.
I taste you,
On my lips when I close my eyes,
And whenever I relive happy memories.
I love you,
And this life we have together,
The way you roll your eyes at me and call me "dork".
You telling me your problems aren't mine, when really they are ours.
I hold you,
In times of sadness, anger, loss.
And I'm glad that you're mine.
There's nobody I would rather have by my side.

I house thunder inside of these bones.
I contain lightning inside my heart.
I contain raindrops in my veins.

I am the storm.

But, do not worry dear plebeians, I do not strike on dark days of gray,
Only on dark days of pain.

I pour down on the suffering, to wash away all of their troubles.
And I'd rather have a lifetime of saving rain than a constantly-glowing sun.

Because the Sun is just too dim compared to the fire that burns inside of me.
I am the storm.

She is always looking behind her
To see what she's dropped
Out of fear,

I do the same
Out of curiosity.

We've smashed against one another,
Desperate to connect but unaware
There was a simpler answer
To our misconceptions

Didn't know
to laugh or cry
sailing in the Pacific
as clouds floated by
and mountains calling
for daring rides.

Looking around
at human forms
tears and smiles
I longed
to be a part of it all,
like one life
with countless wings

I stood still,
where to go?
I didn't know
and
don't know, still.
