Liquid skies come washing down
Sheltering under rainbow bridges
Diamond raindrops hit the ground
Golden umbrellas by sea blue ridges

Sun beams dance across the sky
Making the giant oak crack a smile
Little ants play in the purple grass
They walk an inch or a mile

A small pink bird sings her song
For the listening flowers to hear
The moon salutes the silver clouds
As the stars secretly begin to appear

the wanting of something
   that one thing
that captures my soul
becoming obsessive
in my desire for it

constantly searching

desperate need
   to have it
consuming all thoughts
taking over all feelings
   blinded
     numb
       frantic

trying to escape
the nagging
            annoying
    pull
of this one thing
hollowed by a hunger that won't be satisfied
psychotic with the preoccupation
of finding it

but frightened by the thought
of actually acquiring it.

*am i insane?
she can look you in the eye
and stab you in the back
carry out a conversation
and still she keeps on track
she's just an evil being
and she knows how to attack
always watch her closely
or she'll stab you in the back

you know that when this woman dies
the devil will be cryin'
for it won't be long till she's in charge
and it will not take much tryin'

to make sure that she gets there though
they'll bury her face down
she's got the devil running scared
there's a new sheriff in town
she knows just one direction
that's why she'll be face down
she's got the devil running scared
there's a new sheriff in town

she'll cut you once and you'll bleed twice
you'll be under the bus
this woman is plain evil
she isn't one of us
she'll slice you , you'll say thank you
because she does it with no fuss
she'll cut you once and you'll bleed twice
because she isn't one of us

she's got the devil running scared
the grass dies where she walks
the devil will be unemployed
you know she's lying when she talks
she's the most evil vile being
they''ll put her face down in her box
she's got the devil running scared
this one's as crafty as a fox
I like to drink in taverns
Where you get beers and a shot
Where the glasses all are *****
And the women all are hot
Where there's blood stains on the dance floor
From a brawl the night before
And you know there'll be some more there
Before they close the doors at four

Line Dancin' Badonkadonks
or Boot Scootin' Prima Donnas
Are never on our floor
There's none of them among us
The good ol' Texas two step
Is all you'll  find round here
With both dancers smokin' smokes
and both holding a beer

We're not a bar for yuppies
We're a bar your dad would go
We're a bar with old time music
We're a bar you all should know
We're a bar with old time values
We're a bar with out a name
We're your bar son, your bar
We're your bar son, your bar

Umbrella drinks and blue lagoons
They can keep them in the city
For any guy who drinks that stuff
Well...to me...he's too **** pretty
A shot of Beam, a glass of draft
Waylon on the old juke box
Another shot, a few more beer
And this place really rocks

We don't serve drinks you can't pronounce
Or that take too long to pour
We like our music really loud
Hell...that's what country's for
You don't come here to sit and talk
You come to have a party
So, barkeep...one more time around
And lets start drinking hearty

We're not a bar for yuppies
We're a bar your dad would go
We're a bar with old time music
We're a bar you all should know
We're a bar with old time values
We're a bar with out a name
We're your bar son, your bar
We're your bar son, your bar
she texts me
from the kitchen:
inviting me to share
a breakfast of eggs.
whose?
i wonder,
idly speculating
is this a come-on?
i'm sure of it when
she follows up with:
i'm open to pregnant conversation
sunny side up

The air my lungs grows stagnant
Between heartbeats
Heartbeats that dance
As he pumps it in his hand
Squeeze release. Squeeze release
Slowly, fluidly
Keeping time with his own
Basking in the moments between moments
Increasing and decreasing at his will
By his hand
Rolling on the sea of tympani
The music of his heart
Bleeds life into my own
Riding the crescendo
Between the stillness
Hidden in the silence of time

floating on the essence
of your last words to me
holding on for dear life
to the lifesaver
that were your promises
hitting the bumps
of your lies
unable to breathe
drowning
in the confusion of your commitment
seeing you for the first time
when surfacing
and realizing you were not my hero

i have saved myself.
these few poems are for my cousin (and everyone)
who is battling a broken heart
stay strong

a need satisfied
that's bittersweet

filling the temptation
of overindulgent lust
with obscene touches
and sinful scrutiny

two strangers
are brought together
by a common desire for
    intimacy
         gratification

a need satisfied
that's bittersweet
