You will always be my little girl
Though now a woman in your own right,
And as you step out into the world
I pray to God you will be alright.
Though in cotton wool I would wrap you
To keep you from all harm if I could,
I understand that if I were to
That I would do you more harm than good.
Over the past few years you have grown
Into a wonderful young lady;
The strength of character you have shown
Tells me I have no need to worry.
So go girl! Do what you have to do,
There's a great big world waiting for you!
But remember, whatever you do,
That I shall always be here for you.

rapture
derived
in every note
the music
of the seductive flute
beguiling
enchanting
to love's ear
all embracing
the beauty
is to hear
enfolding
caressing
with a chord
pleasuring
dear
a tone
woven
so
near
I painstakingly write while getting off on the pills
But poetry ain't paying the bills
So drinking bourbon is cheap , fashionable and
forgotten
A white tablet is considered crude , deplorable and woe begotten
So now I'm high contemplating life beneath the bridge
Making a living out of some back alley can
I've been offered many a 'management' position then off I ran
*** kept the forest fire 'manageable'
The work /home thick line cruelly interchangeable as beggars work the store fronts , liquor and potato chips were on sale in
bright red font
Children waited for their parents in locked ,
still running cars
Artificial , yellow light blocked out every star
Profane laborers exit the seven o'clock bus ,
drink from brown paper bags and share their
hard day out loud
Desperation running north and south as the towns three way
intersection grinds to a halt* ..
