You never know
the true meaning of grief
until you witness
someone you love
disappear.

The light of your life
suddenly is gone
and shifts your world to dark
and you're stuck
because you were never prepared for the dark
but life is like that
and sadly you had to be the light that disappeared
        -to granny; I love and miss you dearly, and I hope you are not in any more pain, wherever you are.

My eyes fly open
And flick to the light
This time your ghost
Has stayed the night.
Your smiles and laughter
In dreams I've kept,
But I've held too long
And overslept.

i wish
that love
still
ignited a raging fire
inside my chest
and flowed sparks through
my veins
and masked my
brain
with smoke
so the loneliness
wouldn't feel
as
cold

We’re adults,
But the boy in me
Will always love
The girl in you.

sometimes
i refuse to
write poetry
because inspiration
only comes from
sad
times

this realization
makes me
even
sadder
