California....I love to hate this place,
Gas prices high people getting high on a false sense of reality....lets get it right

Exotic cars and intellectual flaws
Riding down the boulevard

****, can I drive without the admonishment of getting far..?

Dreams of impacting the world one country at a time
Schemes of people full of vanity, fallacies that aren't mine...

Can I dance with the moonlight like King Harvest and not be sued for human rights...?

The waves of excitement once stimulated my thoughts, Filled with nightmares and dreams a southern jezzabelle once taught...

What can you do for me and what I can't do for you; the nightlight just caught...

Yet I remain humble, though I stumble through the golden coast that boast dreams a civil war couldn't  fault...

Dreams of californication....with laid back sentiments and pornification...

Can I wake up from this guitar riff of fornication?

Yet I Vibrate....And marinate on this pointification...

You're a one night stand
But we spent too many nights
I lost count of it.

You're that unexpected kiss
On a drunken wasted night
Of vomits and *****.

You're that awkward hi
Exchanged by strangers who
Thought they both knew each other
But were clearly mistaken for another.

You're the bruise that turns blue
When I accidentally bump my leg
On the corner of the bed.

You're the scar that I never
Knew I had.

You're the bittersweet taste in
My mouth every morning.

You're the last thought lingering
In my head before slumber takes me
And you're the vagueness that
Haunts me in my dreams.

You're the scalding hot shower
In a cold freezing morning.

You're the boiling tea that numbs
My tongue for the rest of the day.

You're the obsession
I will never learn to let go of.

You're that person I will
Never get to call mine.

You're the one that got away.
why a poet?
because a poet
hears the words
which sing the
purest harmonies
because a poet
paints their portraits
in pastels
of phrases
because a poet
dances their agonies
into leaps of faith
and pirouettes
of passion
because a poet
sees
the beauty
in the commonplace
and captures
the moment
in a snapshot
of ink and white
because a bloodless world
cuts itself
a thousand times

and the poet bleeds
For my friends here and around the world on World Poetry Day.

i'm telling you.
the clouds were meant for the ground.
but they hung themselves.
all my life I’ve felt
never

    good

         enough

she’s skinnier than me

     she has better skin
 than me
she has prettier hair than me

I’m always second best

      first loser

runner up

      second thought

this marks the start of my journey

to self acceptance

One more night without you by my side
One more night in a cold, cold bed

I just want to curl up in your heart
And sleep the day away

I can just imagine the scent of your skin
And the heat of your neck

Soft whispers into your collarbones,
And softer touches on your ribs

A heady scent surrounding me:
You, you, only you

Just one night is all I ask.

I want to hike mountains with you
And kiss you on the top of cliffs

Let us be far away
From here,
My dear

And live gently in the sun

i rly like this one :)
i like how the second stanza has that rhyme
love that is generous
and waits not
   for a thousand little things
   to feel diminished

love that speaks openly
   rather than store up
   the souring years
   of unsaid bitter trifles

love that enjoys
   it is returned
knows that it is unique
yet may not be the only one

love that does not possess
and has no need to rank
    itself on a monopoly
    carrying the seeds of self-defeat

love that gives freely
   and takes in alike
   but never needs
   to add up scores

   is such a love
      inhuman?

* *
when you tell me I'm pretty
or how you love me
even when you say I annoy you a little
I am on top of the world

but then, a day later
you seem to forget
that I exist

but, I won't let you
rule my happiness

any more
