Once told , Twice Forgotten
Dreypa Mar 2014
A man once told me
Watch for snakes
Keep your friends close
Because your friends relate
Dreypa Mar 2014
The day the sun refused to rise
Weathered and taxed, people began to fade
This was the beginning of our demise

Sickened by all the mortals lies
The divine produced a solar shade
On the day the sun refused to rise

The gods were unswayed by our cries
Through the darkness man was left to wade
This was the beginning of our demise

On the darkened horizon we left our sighs
Cold and sodding, crops rotting in the shade
On the day the sun refused to rise

This is the time that man withers and dies
Sickened with the trespasses we have made
This was the beginning of our demise

Tears and broken dreams stained our eyes
The Gods enforced their fatal blockade
On the day the sun refused to rise
This was the beginning of our demise

Not Far From Here
Dreypa Mar 2014
What was it that you used to say?
That one day we would all go away
To a place not far from here
Where we will never shed a tear?
That all our dreams would come to turn?
But here I am left to yearn.

All those stormy days from a shore not far
I would look up for that star
To that place not far from here
Where we will never live in fear
The distant skies look so grim
I wonder where you've been

I just want to hear you say
All those things that would come that day
But here I sit looking at the sky
Wondering if the day grows nigh
When the time will come
To go to the place where your dreams came from

Searching for an Answer
Dreypa Mar 2014
Sleepless nights and dreary days
Was this the only way?
Stained eyes and rampant thoughts
Not only truth has these visions brought

We saw too much, we learned too fast
It will never be left as the past
Warped realities and dreams misconstrued
A covenant is what was brewed

We endured these restless nights
Hoping this idea would set things right
Were these trips we took in vain?
Now we question : are we sane?

We saw too much, we learned too fast
Never knew what would last
Through the light and through the veil
We were shown darkness can't prevail

We were given that for which we prayed
Countless choices we never made
We should have never played this foolish game
Nothing will ever be the same

We saw too much, we learned too fast
Never did we guess what was cast
Fleeting remnants we cannot survive
I'm surely glad were still alive

Did we waste our time?
Driving down the darkness
