Reflections
 Oct 2014 David
Joe Cole
I gaze into the mirror, see the reflections in my soul
I see what's gone before me but not what the future holds
I can't control the future, just learn lessons from the past
Study those reflections and let the good reflections last
Each of us should study the events that went before
You might see bad reflections but never close the door
We cannot change the history of what has gone before
But we can always learn the lessons if we open wide the door
So gaze into the mirror and see the reflections in your soul
And use them to do good for all before you grow to old...

Pretty simple this week, just the one words
REFLECTION/S

Here in exile thy is separated
Thy kin folk shall see not a sight of me
Ousted from thy friends not feeling sated
Another door hath been opened for me
Others took this wretch into their welcome fold
Thy cast to the winds of segregation
Treading a path on a road so very cold
Thy must suffer in vast alienation
With hopes of returning back to kin
Thy outlook is uncertain this is so
Will their arms accept the one of much sin
All is in the air maybe the signs say no
Thy ruminates on the outer border
Shall past friends give thy an entry order

Something made me smile
as I passed the place today
where the beech nuts used to pile
and the squirrels used to play
and the workman with the frown
that is sawn into his face
came to take the old tree down
and leave a raw and empty place.

'Let her be a wooden tombstone,
she was getting out of hand'
declared a rubber stamped official
but he didn't understand
that all her strength was in her roots
and her roots were all still there
and today I smiled and watched
her raise ******* in the air.

*Rain has its own song,
When ping on the leaves or lakes
It sings as if I am alone,
When a heavy monsoon has blown
Sometimes it seems like a deep sad song
When it melts with southern cloud pang
And the little bits of your blues,
Its melody divine -
And flows through my blue spine -

Melancholy songs of  Rain that You also feel when you are alone.......
The time was young
To me so dear a time
Holding on to you
and my many maybe’s of tomorrows ...

A time when maybe just maybe
The abuse would stop ...

One day I knew I would escape
One day I knew the tears would stop
The hurting would turn to love
Bit by bit drowning in misery ...

He would come at night
Corner her... ...whisper death shall come to you
You speak a word
You will be no more ...

The hurt she endured
Waiting for the rescue
That never came
The sorrow of life
To follow her as the years went by ...

The sun would shine
She would run
To and fro
Looking for the love
Of long ago
That never came ...

Many years went by
Life’s destroyed
Hurts marred to the soul
Crying never ended
Hard heart seem to live free
There was no ease from the deep
Of the forgotten world
Of yesteryear's ...

Pain should have been love
Sorrow turned to laughter
But the darkness seeped in
Destroying the kisses...

The moments of tomorrows to come
Maybe one more day will not be blocked
This is my life as I knew it ...

For this is the last day of my life
As I knew it ....not any more ...

Sorrow and hurt can destroy one's soul.. Darkness can seep in.. Guard your hearts my friends.

You hold me so close
Sometimes it takes my breath away
Hold me now and never let go
Some times I fear the future
Because its something we never discuss
Its like a wall that we need to climb
So close and yet
Give me a foot up and Ill look over
I promise you will be the first to know
If I have the guts to tell my truths
Entwined in your arms
You are like the missing piece to my puzzle
I don't think I ever want to stop loving you
There is no escape from this place
Motivation is zero
Movement only takes us closer
Only a promise of tomorrow can break this spell
And so be it
I love hard
And fall harder still
You mesmerise me
Like a feeling of enlightened after a spiritual journey
Sometimes I feel vulnerable
Not sure where this is leading
But unable to let go
Unwilling to ask questions
of what lies beyond the thoughts that you hold
Warmth lingers
Until tomorrow my lover
I would wait a million tomorrows
If I knew for sure you would be here
One last piece of my puzzle
And I am complete

green boughs yellow leaves glistening sun glancing from streams
leading to  red roses yes thorns prickling wild berries
generously feed us fields flowing yellow goldenrod
crimson sunsets glowing silver moons
trembling we lie under holding dreams in hands the temples
promised by me to you our earth under us, I give,
A new sun a horizon of scented freedom
with me and you
and nothing else meaning a thing.
A dawn on this horizon,
dew drops a visage,
a nature never
visited
by any romance
before.
