Words don't come to me anymore
silence grows deeper in my soul
the pain gets stronger and stronger.

My hopes, they turn to ashes
at the touch of my hands
I lose them, they slip through my fingers
and they're no Phoenix bird,
won't ever reborn.

Disappointment,
Failure
At every step I take.
My life,
a sinking ship.
My fears consume me day by day.

My love makes me rot inside
light burns my eyes,
music hurts my mind,
my soul is full of scars,
hopeless,
empty,
weak.

I shall die in the darkest silence.

your sadness is showing,
put it away.
no one wants to see
your depression today.

it's not time for that,
some might say,
its so unbecoming
to act that way.

your anxiety is showing,
tuck it in.
the world shows no interest
in what's under your skin.

take a deep breath,
that's where you begin,
or, that's what they say
with a pat and a grin.

your illness is showing,
keep it away.
no one is interested
in that anyway.

but by letting it fester,
and by letting it stay,
it might make me
disappear some day.

Silver and Gold will lose their luster. Jewels will not sparkle forever. Treasures can be stolen or tarnished by the passage of time. Life long memories on the other hand cannot be taken by a thief, nor can time erase the impact of love given to create them. The smallest acts of kindness and caring with family, is often the most precious thing. It is a treasure that cannot be given a value. It is part of who you are and what you pass on in life.

Give something you don't need to another who does not have it. Show concern for another person even if you don't know them. Speak out against injustice even if it is not your fight. Be open to new ideas, even if they seem strange at first. Take small steps to change each day, until you are more accepting of others. Learn to speak another persons language, even if you are from the same place. Give something of yourself to the betterment of where ever you go. Learn to share the world with others, that we might all live and  grow.

As I sat upon a mountain glade

I chanced upon a fairy raid.

There's beauty and joy and danger to see,

Danger at least for a mortal like me.

Though music was played I could hear none

As Sunday's faded and moonlight shone.

The Fairy King and Queen passed on by,

Raised upon oak leaves, servants held them high.

I saw fairies drink from acorn cups provided by the trees,

Though tired and thirsty none was offered,

From any of them to me.

Then the fairies arose and formed a ring

And a tiny creature began to sing.

Soon the dancing was fast and free

I was dizzy but watched with glee.

Then all too soon the dawn light appeared

And before my eyes the fairies cleared.

I felt forlorn to see them go

Fairy folk put on quite a show.

Where they went to I can't be sure

I'll only tell you what I saw.
This is one of a set I have written. I thought hard about posting this in light of people stealing work but my work is all copyrighted and as a member of a writing group I have independently documented proof that this is mine So No Stealing!!

Despite everything that's happened
Despite the mistreatment of our own
Despite the suppression & oppression
Despite the mambas in big numbers
Despite the silencing of the nation
Despite the heavy deployment on the streets
Despite the gas that our eyes mistreats
Despite the despair prevailing in the air
Despite the scare, the arrests that are unfair
Despite the government condemnation
of those battling our incarceration
Despite the fact that some are starving
because electronic mobile money transfer is off
Despite the looming loss and fraudulent tally
Despite the gloomy faces we all wear, the sully
Despite the rage burning through us for many a reason
The main one being the compromise of our peaceful
struggle out of the manacles of this corrupt regime
despite many being voiceless in prison
Despite the treacherous Telecom companies
assisting the tyrant keep us on our bruised knees
Despite the malnourished kids along the streets
despite the expectant mothers fearing for their life
because the best Hospital in the country has no doctors
& the disgruntled interns trying to help and teachers
despite the lives lost in the election scuffle fueled by police
despite the opposition constant arrest and release
the rise in the prices of everything but value of nothing
despite the arrogance of those profiting from the tyranny
despite the dishing out of cash to bribe voters
& the lining up of cattle to have more votes than voters
Despite the furthering hope for eminent change
despite the lead of the incumbent by a ridiculous range
I still love my country and I still believe change will come
even if the despot rules for a thousand a term
I still believe a day is coming when we shall say
"At last, the man is history, this country is now for the people"
I dream of that day, it should have been yesterday
But despite the fact that any dictatorship
tends to want power for permanent keep
Someday from the fountains of change we shall sip
I still believe, albeit such freedom isn't a one day trip
On behalf of all who turned up to cast their votes
thank you for not just talking but also walking
thank you for the courtesy you're giving to the next generation
at least we know we shall have answers in clear narration
to our children and their children, each and every question
Don't give up...to me the fight is just started
And still, even a president has got but one neck
Change is guillotine, someday it catches up
Don't give up for you have come so far and see so much
If you were about to surrender, I hope this your heart can touch
Despite all the challenges our struggle is facing
Let's stay focus toward justice and fairness chasing
Yes, we have fallen more than we deserve
it may feel but someday someone will appreciate your love
One Uganda, one people... in change we believe
For God and my country, I love Uganda
I love you all...Don't give up
For everyone in struggle against dictatorship. I'm proud of you

Living under a bridge, cold and need of a bath. Once a sergeant in an elite command, now invisible to the masses. Sitting on a park bench wrapped in a shawl, feeding pigeons bread crumbs because she has no place to go. Lying in a jail cell, barley the age of 18. Look at grey walls of a future that seems so bleak. All of the forgotten and ignored of everyday life. Those for whom no one cares, as we go about our daily lives. Thrown away people, who want to live and be loved. It makes you wonder how we will be judged by God above?
