The light of the sun comes down in chutes of gold as it finds it's way between the branches of giants. The ancient trees stand as sentinels reaching to the sky and marking time of everything that happens around them. Lesser plants adorn the forest floor and share space as each reaches for the golden rays of light. Ferns sit side by side with Blueberry plants as they grow silently in the shadow of the trees. Well worn trails can be seen between the sparse vegetation running between the might trees too and froe. If you sit on a rock and watch quietly, you may catch a glimpse of a fawn drinking from a cool stream as it winds it's way through a gully or rocky bed onward to the sea. A few moments in the heart of nature gives a soul perspective and lets you relate to how much a part of the world you really are.

in the open field where it's always autumn
I stand with your book in my hands
every story within my fingertips
trees hover around grassy plains
closing in like a picture frame
after feeling your breeze across my skin
I look up and all I see is you
I feel the warmth because of you
all we do is stare
yellow flecks of happiness dance around me
you are pure gold
and you are shining like the sun
thank you, I cough
thank you.

just I existed
but no one
in place of me

a lily was bleeding
in pure whiteness,
like your hands …

I went out early and saw the sunlight
Dive on the breast of a mountain;
Then I watched the firs and spruces
Poking through the fog.

I ground their words into tiny flakes
And smoked them all afternoon;
Then I succumbed and floated up
Way up, like a balloon.

When I woke, the flames of dawn
Were raging in the east;
Nighttime left my roof and lawn
And crept off like a beast.

I was fixing the flowers
When blue-eyed morning
Stopped and came inside:
We visited over coffee
Until the dew had dried.

I can not count the leaves,
unfallen or fallen...there
are simply too many.
I'm not daunted by their
numbers, I needn't balance
the sheet of a season.
I am counted among them--
we see the same light that
presses on our colors.
We open the opening, we
close the closing...a season
is always at hand.

it is truly sobering
what life has to offer
once one begins to listen
begins to search
begins to accept
what our senses are telling us
it is there for us to explore
and oh
how I have explored these last few years

when the doubts have subsided
we can enter this illuminating world
we can touch the other side
hear the voices of the past that are not chained by time
observe those that observe us from afar

this is the life I have come to know
phenomenon within my grasp
the unbridled certainty
the crystalline clarity
the cleansing freedom that comes with the knowledge
that we are not alone

There the window
to the world, if just
beyond it be from
me...rain droplets
cling to leaves
coloring their leave.
The rain droplets
come to heads of
light in all their
transparency...waiting
for a wind to weep
their only ecstasy,
down...up.

Looking up
a glass ceiling
my heart encased
darkness hovering
pitch black
& inked
a lake of illuminated
white clouds
silently watching
a drifting ~
iridescent glow
offering
enlightenment
radiating
like a Gods hands
stretching the
stained canvas
in beautiful sadness
dreamlike landscapes
Sky & Earth merge
an acquisition
of shattered tears
through a looking glass
a ghostly shadow
breath-taking
everything clear
in mirrored skies
a face ~
ducking out

masked,
cloaked
& hidden
from
the
night.
