Hidden in safety.
Mystery lives, rests, and waits.
Lifting shrouds with time.

Now they're never lonely again

The 352 Blues

this city treats the poor
with swift unkindness,
but if you peel your eyes,
you don't necessarily have to always
sing the ole 352 Bleecker Blues

the eyetalian storekeeper,
gives us morning java,
when we sing for him on the guitar,
The Star-Spangled Banner,
refills, if we add America the Beautiful

they say that heat rises,
but that don't seem true
in our third floor walk up
on rue 352 Bleecker Street,
the cold companion enters
thru the busted stain glass window

no matter, no cares,
we light the fireplace,
with wood and anything that'll burn,
we scavenged from the street,
pallets and newspapers,
rent bills overdue,
yesterday's 352 truths

at two AM, the cops, in their cars
cooping, fast asleep, only just us,
the johns, the ****** and troubadours,
walking the streets looking for
free stuff to burn

pass the hat for tips
next to the arch,
enough for daily bread
but we get our ***** and ****
for free, just for singing the 352 blues

even when down and out
on the village streets,
bleak on Bleecker street,
you gotta sing the 352 blues,
especially when you're
riding high and living cool,
down on easy Bleecker Street
in 1968

Before you ask me if this true,
save your breath,
the answer is
Which part?
I met a lady today
Whose face I see in my dreams
Her name is fortune
She wears a beauty that men and
gods becomes confuse

Her virtue is like a torrential river
With an enraging eye and behavior
Her nose inundates the lowland
Her breast brings down trees and buildings

She creates havoc when she passes
Her legs cleanse the land on one bank
And deposit debris on another
Many flees to her direction

As she calms a heart as levees
She drifts heart in stormy weather
Makes you think she is yours
Her deceptive lips makes you hers

As she tease you with glaring beauty
you succumb to her desire hoping she
gives a hand, but she takes the help
for her advantage as she sauntered
away into the dark with her beauty

The river flowed fast in its shallow shadow
Cluster of primroses and wild daffodil waves
As they bloom in undying joy and awful laughter
Caressing breeze forms a ripple in my body

As my eyes caught the shining leaves
as a glass in the sun my ears listen to my heart
How beautiful, beauty clarifies one heart desire to fall
As I walk on the shape, color and texture of her skin

The quiet sound of rippling water screamed
Her mind stirred thoughts of happy love
Is this the lost rib, my heart so inclined
That lifted the river of warm thought in me

Silver sheen of admiration
grows like ***** willows
As I leaned out of the water of thoughts
love sheltered the valley as winter sun

****** of first flowering green so visible
love introduces so much pain in my heart
For it is an empty path that tempts a heart
To climb so fastly instead of slowly

if you tell me I'm wrong,
I won't try to change your mind.
I have better things
To do with my time.
And if you think you can find someone
Better for you than me,
Then go. Be free.
I won't try to change your mind.
Because I love with eyes wide open.
Never blind.
Never again.

You were written
in my destiny
Only as the sky
Untouchable

I can admire you
Your presence
Only never be with
Untouchable

When you are a star
I am not the dark
In my world to be seen
Untouchable

To fly would be
Feel your presence
Only never be
With you present
Untouchable

If you are the sun
I am only the ray
There by your eminence
Untouchable

You were written
in my destiny
Known by my heart
But my eyes not so
Untouchable

There lives in the everyday
On a Wednesday late morning sidewalk
Of grimy city and in the small town
In the overcast of pregnant skies

Just plain folks
Blind enough of their own ego
To wear an immunity of self like a concrete saint

You see them in timeless pause
And watch in awe and ache
As blue and grey birds
With eyes as cloudy as your skies
Rest peacefully on their fingertips
Nurturing fat bellies with morsels of a sacred stillness
