A lovely little poem
Written under a willow tree
The leaves tickling your soft head
Your skin
Caressed by the soft touch of it's soft sisters
Flowing down the branches
The pen runs smoothly
Across a perfect piece of paper
Resting blissfully on your favorite pair
Of memory-lane jeans.
You feel nostalgic as your poem is about someone you love
All the lovely times you've shared with them
Coming back to you under such a lovely tree
With your lovely head alive with emotions
What a lovely little poem you've written.
This poem calms me..Makes me feel grounded. How about you?

Try to write when you are happy.

Ask yourself, How do you write

windshields with blues skies on

long car rides, window rolled down, wind in hands;

your bedroom ceiling at golden hour,

light from your window bent into a striped

rainbow of sea-green, yellow and coral;

your niece cackling, lobbing a blue balloon

to your sister, who holds baby Sawyer;

your white cat purring, folding into your side

a thousand times like an origami crane;

the trees bursting with red-pink and white blooms

that quickly appeared in the last few weeks.

What if

(like the peace you have now)

you didn’t notice these things

til the car was parked,

the sun had set,

your niece and nephew had grown,

you had found yourself alone,

and the petals

had left the branches

piece by piece?

Stories and tales

Come sit with me child
and confess to me today’s mischief
so that, if only for a while
I have something to laugh about

And please, madam, tell me a tale
full of life, longing and love
so that I might feel without fail
what was lost to the course of time

And you, kind sir, tell me a story
to fill my mind with bravery and glory
for I am filled with the fear
of doubt and cowardice

Her hands of seventy years
Teach without saying a word
All those baby’s heads cradled
All of her recipes stirred
Delighting in gardens she’s planted
Her hands bring deliverance
Pure fluidity like a young child
Textured by experience
All the stitches embroidered
All the cake flour sifted
So intricate, seasoned, lovely those
Hands creatively gifted
Precisely she chooses vegetables
So tenderly and knowing
Arranging flowers from her garden
All those seeds she’s still sowing
With hands of seventy years
Assured intention without guessing
That teach me without speaking
Is why I can’t forget the lesson

Hallie Richardson
I want to write something happy,
But honestly, I'm not sure how,
It's easier to write when I'm sad, or angry,
Easier than when I'm just ok, like now,

Right now I feel like stillness,
Like a quiet afternoon without a breeze,
Like a sweatshirt made of cotton,
Like a memory of salty seas,

I feel like something restful,
Like some great slumbering beast,
Like I'm looking to the horizon,
Waiting for the sun to break in the east.
This came from a conversation I had with my English teacher. She encouraged me to write something happy and I think I halfway succeeded.

First time in the world
A grade 1 children cried
As they are going to miss their mam
Ya I too want to cry
As I am having treasured memories of
Muki

Kavi
Superhero
Vijay hero
Darling
Bhem

Bolu

And all 32 monkeys

A purest love
And my samiyanadha
Added beauty to this day
As my bro was beside me
Which happens for the first time

Will treasure this memories
Will make my haunting memories
To run away !!

Kids playing in the piles of leaves
That parents had just raked that day
The trees proudly share their leaves
On this lovely Autumn day
You can hear the crunching beneath
As the leaves get older and dry
There is sadness as leaves hit the ground
A part of the life cycle in nature
This has been happening since the beginning of time
In solace leaves know they will return in sequence
After winter, spring and summer have gone
They will live on as they meet in passing
A gift from mother earth
A promise that there is a new beginning
Every season day month and year
