I want to be free,
Old sages tell me it goes with a fee.
I go on my knees and ask for the key,
They tell me to learn from what i see.

The bird is free to roam the sky,
But they aren't built to swim like the fry.
The fishes are free to swim in rivers,
But they can't touch the sky.

The rivers are free within it's bank,
to flow randomly across its path.
The sun is free to smile with style,
As long as its remain in its track.

Freedom can make you high,
When it does just take a chill.
Freedom goes with a fee,
Eureka! the price is just to know yourself, set your limit and drive your wheel.
The mountain is just a hill,
the oceans are like the streams.
Its just the depth and height,
That set the paces right.

Learn to work till it hurts,
Strive to reason even when you are weary.
Though some problems may look witty,
There is no obstacle that can limit the willing.

Hard work *****,laziness spoils.
Choose your lot and set your worth.
Don't be scared as you mix with people.
Swallow your pride but don't be feeble.

The truth be said we will love some people,
And their smiles will make our hearts fickle.
Don't loose them in a moment of weakness,
Cause you never can tell who will be your fortress.

Sleeping,dancing,working,playing.
Let us strive to do our hearts bidding.
Just like the stone that falls in water makes some ripples,
Those who strive to please people end in disputes.
If I could live forever,
I would still strive for more medals.
If I could write in time,
I would love to engrave my writings in the hearts of men.

The mountains stand forever,
Don't tell me they don't quaver.
My feelings stay eternal cause am in love with historic medals.

Together is not forever.
Leaves will always wither,
Ice melts even in winter.
Stem and branches will not always be together,
Those who doubt can ask Mr timber.

If we think we can be mighty,
Let us fight but don't get *****.
Those who read will become legends.
Inspiring lines live forever.

He who speaks lives for a while,
he who writes lives in time.

After time has past
and a thousand years has come and gone,
Someone somewhere will pick up your work like a scribe from the sky and blend to the rhythm of your pen like young men from the west to the tune of Kayne west.
Then you will realize  your effort wasn't in vain and that the joke of fate didn't tamper with your taste.
You will then begin to live again.
The moon kisses the sea,
Darkness swallow the last rays of moonlight.
The horizons laugh heartily,
As it watches the romance of the seas with the moon.

The rainbow rising from the ocean makes the cloud ecstatic.
The nile sparkled under the ever watching eyes of the sun,
The earth is engulfed with fantasies that only the blind can see.

The rain cuddled me with it's cold droplets,
My head feels the painful pleasure of memories flight.
I struggle with the grasp of internal strikes assured by the doctor they would soon take a nuptial flight.

Time runs with a speed that empties the oceans.
Time's depth is infinte i said feebly as age steadily ate up my boyish vigour.
I can't walk foward without taking flowers from memories lane.

When the light of our youth is extinguished by the rivers of time,
And our hair is painted white by nature's design.
Let the cloud from the evaporation of our memories today,
Rain on us affection and care in those lonely days.
Dedicated to the first girl i ever loved.
Mastmaula - The happy go lucky little turtle

On the beaches of Konkan
Lived a few families of turtles
For ages it has been their home .

Amongst them lived Mastmaula a young and adventurous turtle
To explore the surroundings he loved, popular and lovable , a friend to all .
Many a times he would stray away and had to be fetched by the elders in the group .

He loved visiting  the homes of the fishermen who lived by the sea.
Particularly fond of cabbage fed by the fisherwomen .

Amusingly he was also fond of music .
And loved to dance

The fishermen went fishing by the day
And would celebrate  the catch and their life by evenings .
Music played  and seafood savoured in almost every home.

Mastmaula was sure to visit, the fisherman 's house when there used to be a party.
One of the evenings , there was one going on in one of the houses , music was loud with party lights on.
And ,the food yes cabbage in colours, purple and green ,
Mastmaula knew would sure be part of the menu.

The fisherman's family had guests coming from afar
The occasion , an engagement ceremony .
As the music went on , Mastmaula went turtle and began to spin.
And sure he did have a few amazing moves , which caught the guests' eyes
And one of them ,fancied  carrying Mastmaula to their home.
The host opposed but the guest's  7 year old daughter Mili loved Mastmaula and wanted him to be part of her family . The host reluctantly obliged.

Soon , it was dark and a bale of turtles were out to fetch back Mastmaula home. They knew where to  find him.
Reaching the party venue and not finding him there they panicked and soon swelled in numbers.

The fishermen family knew it was time to call their guest ,who had taken away  Mastmaula .
The guest hurriedly came back with Mastmaula in a little basket and placed him down .
Mastmaula was overjoyed to reunite with his family and promised them all that he would never stray away and be careful of his visits alone to the fishermens homes.
Have always told self invented bed time stories to my boys .
My older son , Amitabh has been fond of 'The Hare and the Tortoise' since he was a toddler , have told him many , cause he always to listen to a new version .
Last night came up with this story of a young turtle .
I haven't ever written any story so far . This is the first that I have documented and so thought of sharing here on HP.

My mother tongue /Native language is Hindi .
Narrated the boys this story in Hindi .

MastMaula means -Happy go Lucky

Dedicated to both my sons , Amitabh and Anshul  :)
Thank you all for reading
From the sixth floor on a Sunday
night you can see
the snake of green

lights switch to red, cars
jarred back a hundred
times stopped in tracks.

There is the jolt
when the robin's egg
cracks in my hands

that is the **** motion of waking
up from falling backwards. There
is the second hand, second

law of thermodynamic
arrow of time, the red
leaves want the earth

beneath them and sooner die
than go back up. There is sitting
cross-legged next to a jigsaw

waiting to see
why one can only wait
in one direction.

Of course, you can see
the traffic lights change
on other nights too,

but Sunday is the one I'm thinking of.
Yesterday, your voice filled my lungs with air
your sweet laugh at my horrible jokes
makes me feel whole again
I can breathe into Today
Today, your name on my phone makes my heart skip a beat
the day isn't over, but that might be all I get
Tomorrow may be filled with sadness as I search
for the reasons why it has to be this way
Every day is different
Every day is a mystery
I love to hate it and hate to love it
it's a long distance... whatever
Just because I bear the pain,

it doesn’t mean it’s bearable.

My mind is falling into pieces
Into small strands of string
Floating away into the wind

It is so hard to make sense of things
My mind is always on it
My issue, my problem

I want help
But am so scared
What will they think of me?
Will they tell me it’s all fake?
That this feeling inside of me that I am meant for something more
More than this world can offer me
Is wrong?

I want my stories to be real
I want to have magical abilities
I want this all to be a dream and that I will wake up tomorrow

If I do get help
What will they think of me?
Will they feel betrayed?
These characters I have created
Will they leave me for someone more reliable?

What if I let it all go?
All these stories, these creations
Will they leave me cold and helpless?
I’ve worked so hard to become the person that I am

If I just let it go,
Will it die away?
Will I die away?
