Eye-Openers

It may dig at your skin,
What you need to do is lift up your chin,
The voice may echo at the back of your head,
They are not even the worth of a single thread,
Don't waste your time on those who don't mean well,
These are the people who you do not want to dwell,
Those who simply take advantage of you,
Those who are, oh so very narcissistic,
Learn to have a spine,
Learn to stand up straight,
Learn to be up on your feet and appreciate,
Those who would run to keep you up,
Than those who wouldn't look back as you fall down,
Learn about your self worth,
Learn about who mean well,
Learn from those bad experiences,
The ones where you saw the true people,
The ones who stood by you every time,
The ones who never asked for something in return,
The ones who will never want to see you at your worst.
And from it all,
You are left to decide whether,
You want to learn or bring them closer together
Because in the end just remember,
from now until -December,
They were Eye-Openers.

Never have roses
Smelled so bitter
Never has a blue jay
Had such a sad twitter

Never has the sun
Shone without light
Never have the stars
Been dull, not bright

Never has music
Been so silent
Never has a breeze
Been so violent

The world should be colorful
Every single day
But ever since you left
It is all shades of gray

The Moon was but a Chin of Gold
A Night or two ago—
And now she turns Her perfect Face
Upon the World below—

Her Forehead is of Amplest Blonde—
Her Cheek—a Beryl hewn—
Her Eye unto the Summer Dew
The likest I have known—

Her Lips of Amber never part—
But what must be the smile
Upon Her Friend she could confer
Were such Her Silver Will—

And what a privilege to be
But the remotest Star—
For Certainty She take Her Way
Beside Your Palace Door—

Her Bonnet is the Firmament—
The Universe—Her Shoe—
The Stars—the Trinkets at Her Belt—
Her Dimities—of Blue—

Food.

A friend I can always count on
Doesn't ask for commitment,
Yet I'm committed

Oh my delightful treat!
My hunger you delete
to you no one can compare
people come and go but you're always there

because of you my pain is eased
all my craving's deceased

Forget those foolish humans
Together we rule!

And yes! because of you,
Weight I will gain
But never will I hide with disdain.

Food.

The only thing you bring more than joy,
Is all the sadness you destroy.

Remember when
our love
Effloresced
Into a flit
of exuberance?
