Adeebah
ill
Darker than the nights
in September
As I swallow my cries
down with
these pills and Old Ale

The lurking shadows creep
and dance
I see a friend in mine
curtsy and
dance til my knees turn blue

My lips chapped and I kiss
my reflection
Pale and Blue lying on
the floor
Held by vines of desolation

Throw me in Bedlam where I
will sleep
When delusion is put to use
and my soul
Put to rest.

They are all gone into the world of light!
    And I alone sit ling’ring here;
Their very memory is fair and bright,
And my sad thoughts doth clear.

It glows and glitters in my cloudy breast,
Like stars upon some gloomy grove,
Or those faint beams in which this hill is drest
        After the sun’s remove.

I see them walking in an air of glory,
Whose light doth trample on my days:
My days, which are at best but dull and hoary,
         Mere glimmering and decays.

O holy Hope! and high Humility,
    High as the heavens above!
These are your walks, and you have show’d them me,
        To kindle my cold love.

Dear, beauteous Death! the jewel of the Just,
    Shining nowhere, but in the dark;
What mysteries do lie beyond thy dust,
        Could man outlook that mark!

He that hath found some fledg’d bird’s nest may know,
    At first sight, if the bird be flown;
But what fair well or grove he sings in now,
        That is to him unknown.

And yet as Angels in some brighter dreams
Call to the soul, when man doth sleep:
So some strange thoughts transcend our wonted themes,
        And into glory peep.

If a star were confin’d into a tomb,
    Her captive flames must needs burn there;
But when the hand that lock’d her up gives room,
She’ll shine through all the sphere.

O Father of eternal life, and all
    Created glories under Thee!
Resume Thy spirit from this world of thrall
        Into true liberty.

Either disperse these mists, which blot and fill
My perspective still as they pass:
Or else remove me hence unto that hill,
Where I shall need no glass.

Show me the man who dreams his faerie tale,
who gives it breath and depth, who sings it in,
and who can animate these without fail;
who robes the mind and gives the bones their skin.
Give me the chance to ask him how he lives
amidst the mortal memories of loss,
and what about his love of living gives
his mind resolve that death cannot accost.
And let me tell him, then, that when he dreams,
a thousand others pale against its light,
because, when everything is at it seems,
we use his champions to slay our blight.
Without a mind as his to give us wings,
we might forever pray for simple things.

Maybe someday I’ll stop crying.
Maybe someday I’ll stop breathing.
Maybe someday I’ll stop feeling pain but until then this is where my life lies.
I am with a guy who tends to lie and hide.
Who thinks ******* is an okay type of thing.
When he happens to be with me.

I am not okay with this.
I have broke his phone. Slapped his back.
I yell and I scream. I break things and make my own self bleed.

You don't understand and you sure as hell can't see.
How much you are hurting me.
Its me against the world of beautiful women.

You are never going to stop.
I keep asking you please but you keep pushing me away like I am a ******* disease. We fight about this all the time.
I don't know why and us still exists.

I am tired of crying and wondering why.
Is it because I can't satisfy?
Is something wrong with me?
Am I just not enough?
Please just tell me. I wanna be done with this stuff.
It’s me against the world of beautiful women.

I hate feeling this pain. It never goes away.
Wondering ever move you do.
Not believing a word of truth.
You have lied to me one too many times.

You see me cry. You see me angry.
You have the guts to ask me why?
After you just watched over 60 videos
of ******* and told me another ******* lie.

**** I just want to die.
Then I won’t have to deal with these unforgivable lies.
I hate *******.
I hate how it is more important to you.
Then I will ever be and until that changes.
I am here to say good-bye.

It is me against the world of beautiful women
and in the end I am losing.

In their blind bid
To become westernized,
They lost touch with reality
Created shadows of themselves
Despised their own intrinsic values
Embraced a twisted dress sense
Of fallen pants and revealed underpants
Idolized everything they're not
The good, the bad, the ugly
They birthed dual personalities
Picked up foreign accents
On ****** home-based passports
The American Dream, they call it,
As they wear winter jackets
In scorching African sun
All in the name of fashion
Trading our simple hues
For complex shades unknown
Bleaching skin and hair
Trading natural black for artificial white
Unaware the very gods they adore
Are tanning theirs to look darker
Insecurity drives them mad
Inferiority complex overtakes them
As they ban mother tongues in offsprings
Placing exotic tongues on pedestals
At the expense of our cultural future.

This is not an attempt at poetry
This is wake up call to Africa
Be bold, be proud, be black!
You are BEAUTIFUL!!
You are AFRICAN!!!*

When men leered at me and boys glanced down my shirt and when I was invited into a bedroom or down an alleyway I always said no because I had a boyfriend. But now that I don't, what's my excuse for not wanting someone to want me?

LAY me on an anvil, O God.
Beat me and hammer me into a crowbar.
Let me pry loose old walls.
Let me lift and loosen old foundations.

Lay me on an anvil, O God.
Beat me and hammer me into a steel spike.
Drive me into the girders that hold a skyscraper together.
Take red-hot rivets and fasten me into the central girders.
Let me be the great nail holding a skyscraper through blue nights into white stars.

Come, let us pity those who are better off than we are.
Come, my friend, and remember
that the rich have butlers and no friends,
And we have friends and no butlers.
Come, let us pity the married and the unmarried.

Dawn enters with little feet
        like a gilded Pavlova
And I am near my desire.
Nor has life in it aught better
Than this hour of clear coolness
        the hour of waking together.

Mat 24:6  When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don't panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end.

Sleep, precious one
The sheltered oblivion of innocence
Passes quickly
In the revelation of darkness and light

Mat 24:7  Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places.

But consider the intimate whispered things
The divinity of DNA
I made you to stand unshaken
Uncompromised
Unforsaken, Child I am with you

Mat 24:8  This is nothing compared to what is coming.

The celebration of death
Macabre mutations of sacred and profane
Black and white will blur
And you will cry alone
Over gray shadows of lives
That might have been

Mat 24:9  "They are going to throw you to the wolves and **** you, everyone hating you because you carry my name.

But you have the courage
To stare death down
I am your forever
Each beat of your heart
Remembers my promise

Mat 24:10  And then, going from bad to worse, it will be dog-eat-dog, everyone at each other's throat, everyone hating each other.

Eyes blind they stare
At the mirrored reflections
Unable to recognize
The sanctity of a human life
But you’re not among the walking dead

Mat 24:11  "In the confusion, lying preachers will come forward and deceive a lot of people.

One way, one truth, one life
This mantra whispered
In the cacophony of choice
Residue of lost souls, multiple paths
To a destination of perpetual separation
Just follow me….

Mat 24:12  For many others, the overwhelming spread of evil will do them in--nothing left of their love but a mound of ashes.

The conditional provisions
Bound, gagged and shackled
This was never my way

Mat 24:13  "Staying with it--that's what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won't be sorry, and you'll be saved.

Sleep precious Child
I will wait for you in your future
When you know its not in the victory
But the struggle
You will find me where I’ve always been
Within
I bring you Peace.

Love
Dad
