Earnest Eyes
 Jun 2016 Adele

Those earnest eyes.
They rest upon the breeze...
And set sail.
Bewildered much but yet unfazed.

So
they ride the currents,
in search of home.
Unsure but yet deliberate.

Only
to wash up
upon the shore of my gaze.
Seemingly beaten
but yet determined.

Then
they found
solace and comfort
in the eyes of another.
Unexpected but yet somewhat foretold.

I now know that
those earnest eyes....
Have committed to sharing one vision.
Even before setting sail.
With no other
than mine.

I am no rock
my heart
is not made
of tiny bits
of stone
it will not
be crushed
like a pile
of ground-up bone
it might be
washed upon
shores
like the most
miniscule of
treasures
found in sand,
unseen to
naked eye
yet so full of
iridescent magic
in a spectrum of colors
a secret world
unto its own
those almost
invisible shapes
jeweled corals
of earth
up from
sea  bottom
in foamy
rebirth
but I will take it
(yes, my heart,
in rawness
and thunder)
and hold it
and nurse it
before it goes under
I will rock it
and soothe it
before it calcifies
as the ocean
invites endless
salt from
my
eyes

beth fwoah dream
roses, wild and overgrown break the sky
with their cloudy blossom,

image of a lily on a smooth pond,

the light flooding through lilacs,
delicate as a breeze.

Ernest Hemingway
All armies are the same
Publicity is fame
Artillery makes the same old noise
Valor is an attribute of boys
Old soldiers all have tired eyes
All soldiers hear the same old lies
Dead bodies always have drawn flies
shadows deepening
snow topped indigo mountains
flamingo pink skies
camped by a glacial lake
watching the end of the day
a single ****** swims past
its wake a thin silver line
then a loon calls from far off
and my heart disentangles
as the universe floods in
and washes away my pain
in a deep ocean of stars
bliss incandescent

i must have been a hero
in my previous life.
i must have battled evil,
had courage in the face of strife.

maybe i was a saint,
and blessed everyone in sight,
took care of those who lost their way,
showed them how to find the light.

or maybe i was a freedom fighter,
a peaceful one, of course.
maybe I died helping people escape
from war and military force.

i must have done something great
to deserve what i have now.
i've been blessed with your love, angel,
and i'm not sure why or how.

people like you only come along
every thousand years at best,
but the universe put you in my arms
so i must have been a hero, i guess.

Is the grass greener
On the other side of life
Or more of a dream

And do the people
On the other side of life
Dream about this side
