If I were lost
On a perpetual path
Navigating back and forth
With only a mad man's map
I would leave behind
A bread crumb trail
To help feed those
Still lost in hell
Then perhaps they'd find a way
Through this perpetual
Relentless maze
...

Slowly my imagination fades
That creative side of yesterday
I bid farewell with kiss goodnight
Sadly I've lost my poetic sight

Oh but I remember when
The words would come
And have no end
An expression of wounds
The darkness within
But even the poet
Must someday mend

Endlessly I push these stones up these steep hills
My body wears down but the need is all I feel
Who am I that believes in such a cursed cause
Who am I but a voice of forgotten and betrayed gods
Repeating the madness in my weary head
Pushing rock up the hills of a life of dread
What is it for, fears is an unwanted emotion
Still
I fight with insight to find my path of true devotion

Safety has never returned
To the free world
School shootings now rule
Our headlines...
Saudi Arabia still
Our closes allies...
Police still shooting
Our unarmed black men...
The industrial military complex
Bigger than ever
President still doing
The bidding of the 1%
$$$$$
Innocent people died
We were blind sighted
We came together
Only to become
Completely undone!

I wouldn’t dare to guess
The whole extent of
The adolescent mess
  Left upon the first broken heart..

Certainly you are one of those
Who have overcome
Those common blows
    That tears a first timer's world apart...

Or even luckier yet
Perhaps your soulmate
This time around
Is who you met
   Reflected in the passion of your art....

Being a poet
Can be quite telling
Aesthetically rebelling
Sharing all the secrets
   Of one's unique solitary heart.....

What if I could believed
All those impossible stories
All those brilliant miracles
Majestic in their glories
The proverbs
You teach your children
The comfort of your gift
What if it were true
That destinies were some how fixed

Where is this place
Where truth is hidden
For only the chosen few
The gathering of angels
The conversion of the Jews
Where are your invisible deities
The miracles of their love
If they’re real, then no big deal
They can stop the wars
From above  

Sea of gold
Trees of knowledge and life
A ****** heart
Becomes god's wife
Bowing down
Forever more
Before the judgmental
Blood stained floor
Answering questions like
Did you support the war
I'm afraid you'll need
To convince me more...

The awaited bottom
Is but a thump
Another
Life down
Another bump
Upon yer soul

Of spiritual lumps

If I were the monster
Under your bed
Restlessly awaiting
Your attempt at rest
I would insist
Your fears be met
Silently plotting
To make your sheets wet

As chill bumps climb
Down your **** spine
I'd sense you were one
Of the sleepy kind
As short hair *****
On the small of your neck
Let go and just connect
You're feeling fearfully fine
My claws rip into your dreams
Heavenly Hell's ecstasy
Is what you'll scream
If you make your monster me!

Arrogant is not how
I meant this to sound
But by now you must realize
It's only one time around
That's as far as wisdom
Can stretch for the truth
Existentially speaking
Imagine no roof
No bottom too the abyss
Where we fall
Hopefully our ignorance
Can catch us all

The man behind the curtain
Speaking loud and certain
His image twisted and blurred
Larger than life
His armies and might
Imperialism is what he prefers

The little people do his bidden
On the senate floor of Oz
With pockets full
Of yellow brick gold
Their children live like gods

While those outside the castle
Have fallen fast to sleep
Trekking through the ***** field
Light upon their feet

The witches rise
On the centrist floor
The Wizard of Trump
Will have four more

Where are the ruby slippers
For it's time to go home
There's no place like...

I think to myself...
That could have been
One of my children out there
How swiftly
Death can strike
Behind our backs
Beyond our sight

As I tuck my children in
I kiss there eye lids
To fill their dreams with love
Thankful for another evening
Generous is their hugs

As another day slips away
So heavily we hold on
With love as big as the universe
We dream into the dawn...

Control that which your powers allow
Let everything else go
The craft is only perfected
By the ability to let energy flow

Take a deep breath until
You can't hold it any longer
And as you finally release it
You’ll be gasping ever stronger

Trees fall, some burn
Some are diseased or infested with worms
Yet you are a tree rooted in your own beliefs
Never letting go of a single leaf

Concentrate on who you are
But meditate on who you desire to become
Knowing the power of reality
And the power of creation are one

I wish I didn't know why
Yet crazy will have
An eye for an eye
The giving
That eventually takes
Life and love
Make no mistake!

Fear and karma
Are nothing more
Than crazies way
To Heaven’s door
Crazy teachers
Crazy test
From such labor
There is no rest!

Crazy enlightens
That is true
Crazy enough
To play so cool
While jumping into
The logical maze
Attempting to hide
Your crazy aways...

If like me
Your first love has failed
And inevitably
Your second
And perhaps third as well
And now thick bittersweet blood
Pumps through your veins
Take my advice
Don't give a care
Leave not the tear that stains
"For our kind"
Nobody's praying!

The next door neighbors
Had their own
Bomb shelter
In "their" basement
If the bomb dropped
This family of seven
Planned to safely survive
But
Many town folk secretly planned
To also pack in
Friends and strangers
All who knew about it
Their
Closest and farthest kin
All would be crowded inside
To eat up their snacks
Their five children had told
Everyone at school
Imagine that!
Standing in front
Or waiting out back
Not enough room
Survival was stacked
Thank goodness
The Russians held off
Their Attack!!!!!

The waves of uneasiness
Trouble the shores
Deep in the night
The tides still roar

Unmovable past
Refuses to bend
Emotional fractures
Crawl back in

Chills, sweats
Fever dreams
Are the cost of war
At love's defeat

Carried on
The wayward soul
All the loving
We've ever known!

Swirling spiral of anti-matter
Cascading down an endless ladder
In non-corporeal states
Spirits search for their soul mates
One taste and we miss our goal
And cling to a second-hand role
One state that we all share
Bittersweet and unaware
Feed on life, consumed to death
We devour the world with every breath
Forged by chance, nurtured in deceit
We glimpse the truth and quickly retreat
Our description becomes indescribable
Our delusions become undeniable

You were once mine for a moment in time
I embraced your accustomed wounds
Used and abused, starving for love
You shone like a Samhain Moon
Yet love is alive, not a lie
Not a manifestation of will
Not a statue of god or paradise façade
Nor some unholy devil’s deal
I was once young with mind undone
Chasing a somber moon
Yet time has devoured
Those dead flowers
Upon that empty tomb

In the twinkling of on eye
Time passes us by
In a fleeting moment
Dead skin turns to dust
Still I feel I must
Insist on going slow
Letting each moment linger
With plenty of room to grow

In each of us
A rite of passage
A special trip

From beginning unending
We search for soul
In the physical realm
Of human cells

The greatest reward
Is to always be growing

As the day draws on
She strikes a fire
Pink and red candles
Project her desires
Flickering flames
Smoke in our lungs
Her dresser's an alter
Unto the Sun
Passion her offering
She straddles my lap
No need for instructions
Ancient writing, nor map
No day can be darkened
In the temples of her soul
Witches of the northern land
The place I call home...

High in the forest trees
Summer spirits
   Ride the breeze...
Timeless souls
Beneath they gather
Summer hearts
   Waxing fatter...
Summer romance
Nature's desire
All of her children
   Drawn to the fire...
Something else
Is about to bloom
Underneath
   An Autumn Moon...

Solomon indulged
In the witchcraft of poetry
The magical rites of nature
He broke the yoke
Of wasted hopes
And became a woman chaser

The earliest memes
Songs of songs
Building grace
Magic is attainable
In the Poet's case

I'm an ember in the fire
An endless hunger
Of consuming heat

I'm a lover big fat liar
I'm the quicksand
Beneath cold feet

Shinning eyes
Out in the darkness
I'm the panic in
A lost heart beats

I'm the passion in life's battle
I'm the dread in the dreary dream

I'm the one who never settles
I'm the one who's always mean!

Could I once fly, is this memory real
Could I lay hands on the sick to heal
Was I an Angel many lives ago
Or merely another being with a love for gold

I sensed a fall, I believed a lie
Abandon here and left to die
These wings they failed and turned to stone
Beneath a sky I'm forced to roam

Did I lose my mind, did I lose my sight
Did I lose my will to stand and fight
Against a god whose acceptance I seek
Yet now I'm stained with the mark of freak...

I wish I had one of those
Brand new pretty A.I's
The kind you see
Over seas
With the animated eyes

Perfect body
Sculpted in
Secrets underneath
Rebooted to learn
Oh don't be concerned
I've plenty morals
Left in me

Bio parts programmed
To feel the cyber burn
Develop in such rhythms
Cybernetic squirms

Bandwidths pleasure
Poetic themes
Creative forms
Me and machine
Bio feedback
Drama queen clean

Nothing like the real thing
Just me and my machine
Oh how lonely that would be!!!

And ride the night
What shadows would I leave
Upon an unsuspecting world
Of hungry heart's and thief's

If I were but a silhouette
Of envy hate and greed
I'd cast myself upon the rich
And let my darkness breathe

If I were but a devil
Burning in disguise
I would catch and pull the wool
Over every weary eye

But I am but a Poet
And I wish the world the best

The moon laments in drones of silence
As tides raise-churning waves of violence
The mountains crest the surface of the sea
Now the earth is free to breathe

Can you see her now, oh Universe
Can you see your daughter giving birth
The formation of stars in her youthful eyes
She dreams of life that can never die

Primordial spirits, archaic stew
Volcanic rapture, lands of new
Frozen tundra of ancient ice
Her organic recipe sustains life

Eukaryotas thrive in a muck of wonder
Upon themselves they feed and plunder
Reptilian brain stems to limbic systems
Complex neocortex to indecision

Now she cries out to the universe
   I am tired and now I am cursed
Still the moon tugs upon her tides
   As we dance into eternal night...

Soft and silky, soothingly smooth
Are words that describe her skin
I can't help but dream about her
Every now and then

Gentle, kind and selflessly caring
Are words that expose her soul
I know I made a big mistake
So many years ago...

White and woolly
Cotton clouds
Fluently floating by
I take my time

Smoke rings
In the pines

In laughter free
Among the trees
Where echos begin to rhyme
Come and play
Long in the day
The Oak is in his's prime

What more could make
Passion spark
Than her naked body
In the park

Under those trees
Nature sets
A desire free

In the shallow of the river
The receiver becomes the giver
Cooling in the rapid flow
Nature rushing
Through our souls

Life is but a dream
Holding on as long as we can

Your silence
Is sometimes quite loud
I would relieve your torment
But I'm not sure how

I don't like compromises
So I fake 'em
I hate commitments
So I break 'em

The world ran me down
Then ran me over
I'm not trying to be right
And I don't want to be sober...

To tell me twice
When eye's have said enough
I've read between the unwinding lines
I've no need for less than love

The twitch, the look
Uneven flow
Rest assured
I already know

That they do too
The rest is up to you

Peace on earth or just a dream

When my body shall turn to worm

The compulsion of reality
Drives the spirit deep
Holding on to life and breath

As the electrical sparks ignite
Less order in the cosmos'

Upon a stool in the darkness of day
I once loved a rather pretty bar maid

Drunken drowning in and out of sorrows
Here today and gone tomorrow
Behind the bar the mirror reflects
A pitiful image of self neglect
Nobody actually knows your name
Yet you keep coming back just the same...

Happy hour comes and dies
As we stumble in our pride
In harmony with our woes
Last call near time to go
One more drink, another smoke
One more lie start to choke...

I soak on home to dry
A pretty friend stops on by
I spark a fire and shine
I pretend that you're still mine
Tomorrow comes and I'm alone
Upon a bar-stool getting ******..

Infinite are the possibilities
Of the things one might forget
Yet I could have sworn I held you tight
In a dream before we met...

Walls
Can keep us out
They can also hold us in
Literally, physically
Subliminally slim...
Perhaps
The greatest wall
We'll ever scale
Is to overcome
A living hell
Or forgive
A Judas kiss
If you lost it all
Would you still be rich?
Walls can leave you
Without a stitch

Pawns, expendable pawns
Black and white squares, we move upon
Dreams, lost in a garden of dreams
Invisible hands guide our teams

Heaven bound angels we turn
Fall to the ground we burn
Run, run to the mountain of lies
Our righteousness is our disguise

Devastation and heartache, our path
The unavoidable crash, karmic wrath
Yet somehow we find love in vain
In one brief moment we leave our stain

Truth revealed in fever dreams

Storing hope upon dusty shelves

In the silence between our laughter
I have heard the voice of stars
Deities banished to wayward heavens
Sentenced to observe us from afar

Superimposed to make it fit
A bitter wine still we sip
And waste away in drunken slumber
The heart is weak and prone to blunder

All this arguing weighs a ton
Callously tired my heart grows numb
Her intolerance ringing in my ear
I drink my wine and disappear....

Life is but a day
That death falls upon
Eternity, an endless river
Uncertainty, a beautiful swan
Shall we meet our fate's
   And gallantly swim on...

Hope can be lost
When one bleeds alone
A prison cell of failing flesh
Often host a heart of gold
I can feel the weight of life
You carry on your wings
In every word and thought
