One night I awoke from a horrible dream,
That the camouflage toys caused piercing loud screams.

They filled up our trucks with harmful delight,
Oh god, dear god, oh I can see the light.

Please God, oh please, oh don’t let this end,
Please, I’ve so much to say to a boy and a friend.

The boy was the boy I saw in my dreams,
When we were together we were the perfect team.

That boy would just tickle me, laugh and play,
When I saw his smile it sure made my day;
That’s why I asked you if it was okay.

But my friend all you did was nod and say fine,
But ****, you said nothing, Should have gave me a sign.

You could’ve told me no or told me how you felt.
You could’ve told me how your broken heart would’ve melt.

You could have told me that you felt that way,
But instead you simply let our friendship slip away.

When you did that scene of heartbreak, oh sure;
You made me feel like ****, I sank right through the floor.

Could you believe the irony, in that card and in that scene,
How could I have been so stupid, so ignorant, so mean.

But my friend, oh my friend your forgetting one little part,
Did you ever try to learn what was inside my heart?

Did you know that I loved him, and did you know why?
Oh, it’s because he made me happy, when you made me cry.

You say I’ve got everything, what have I got to hide,
But instead I hide everything, every emotion, I’m a lie.

Do you think that I asked to feel this way, nope.
Did you honestly think I liked to sit around and mope.

So now when I tell you how much I loved him, I knew,
That deep inside your heart, you always knew it was true.

So now that you know how I feel my friend.
Hey god, dear god, I can leave now, the end.
Love, is it the way you make me feel
Like you’re the only thing that’s real.
Is it the softness of your eyes,
Never telling me lies.
That soft brown glow
Oh, how it shows.

You’re the one who always cares
When all the world can do, is stop and stare.
You’re the one who’s there for me
When others just won’t let me be.

The guys who came, the guys who past
You’re the one that always lasts.
Through death, through life
You’ve helped through strife.

You’ve been here all the while.
Stopping those tears and making me smile.
Giving me one last chance, one breath more
Keeping me from my internal war.
Till night, my deary
My love. My Friend. My beary.
This is a poem I wrote back in high school. The assignment was to write a poem about an inanimate object. I chose to write about a teddy bear (named Beary) that I had since I was 3 years old.
