Don't judge her
Tapan Aug 2019
Then, she was a girl with aspirations
Now, she is a women with a vision
don't judge her
by just how much she has achieved
be inspired by
how she struggled & persisted to succeed

There may appear chaos in her brain
but don't be mistaken
that's the burning fire in her soul
while I try to catch up with her
she excels in her every possible role

When it Rains
Tapan Aug 2019
On a drenched, dark, soaked up night
while the rain was rinsing the city clean
my mind went wandering over
to a wasteland of forgotten memories

Where-in, as a child
I'd sit by the window and watch
the rain droplets trickling down
and leaving behind a trail, a stream
that rest of the drops followed

My inquisitive mind would wonder
at the mystic sounds of thunder
and I'd feel somewhat intoxicated
with  the scent of the first rain
and the tranquil, serene sense
that it lefts after

Coming back to my senses
yet feeling vaguely inebriated
with the surrounding earthly aroma
I climbed to my bed
and I could hear
the quiet enveloping the room
and I could hear
the rustling blankets
and I could hear
my heart... skipping a beat
for the melancholic beauty of rainy days

Rain stimulates me,
Rain heals me,
Rain makes me feel alive
Rain reminds me that 'I exist'

Moon and Muse
Tapan Feb 2020
Sometimes, the night wakes
in the middle of me
and I, wrapped up in
a sheet of thoughts
look up the sky

There I see
the quintessential Moon
sailing through the sky
quite unaware, of its pull
making the water
in the oceans bulge

Like the moon stirs the sea
so do you, stir me
while sailing on your own rhythm
quite unaware, of your pull
weaving tides in my heart

I would like to believe
the seas once belonged to
the moon...and then
they fell apart

...and there's something in the moon
that's constantly, ceaselessly
trying to embrace the sea
one more time
quite unaware, it already does

Hope
Tapan Feb 2020
I
flustered
numbed
under-slept
perennially tired

like a distracted bird
that can't differentiate
between the birdseed
and the snare

Yet
HOPE alone
gets me going
that's my medicine
that's my vice

Nature's Delight
Tapan Mar 2020
After a refreshing  rainy spell,
on this fresh, crisp, clear morning
Butterflies
came out of their cocoons,
free, beautiful and powerful
and humans
went into self-imposed hibernation

Mother nature spreads its wings
While humanity tiptoes
into an unprecedented crisis
Yes, we will emerge out of it
but, in the meanwhile
let equilibrium find its way
to Nature's delight
Dedicated to the time we are living in

Your candor
Your laughter
Your gentle manners
Your little mischiefs

that innocent forwardness
that carefree dancing
and all that naughty fun
I am not over with them yet

And now
the slow impressions
of a grown up you
a more responsible you
