Water under the bridge, they said,
as if it was left behind,
but I’m still beneath it, sinking instead,
patiently waiting for a hand to find.
To them it was nothing, a truth they withdrew
but that bridge was my world, and it fell with you.

I will be your waiter today,
would you like something to drink?
In fact, you don't even need to pay,
I'll give you more than you can think.
All you have to do is be pleased,
and I'll feel the work is done.
My own hunger stays uneased,
yet still I serve one by one.

Misery loves company
Self Aug 3
I pushed you away when you got too near,
told you to leave, though I wished you’d stay here.
You asked if I’m fine
I swore I was okay,
but my silence begged you not to walk away.
I made a scene of my sadness and pain,
lit the match, left you holding the flame.
Said you meant nothing, just to confuse
when truthfully, you were everything that I was scared to lose.
I ruined the good so I wouldn’t feel small,
dragged you down just to soften my fall.
You didn’t deserve what I turned out to be
I guess they were right when they said, misery loves company.

A phantom’s rule
Self May 1
You left him shattered, clean cut, no mess.
And still, he doesn’t love you any less.
You’re still present but yet long gone.
A whisper, a shadow, a half-faded song.
He walks through your memory, lost in the past,
While I hold a love that was never built to last.
You’re not here, but you linger soft and cruel,
And I loved a man obeying a phantom’s rule.

Let it be me
Self Apr 6
It feels like I'm stuck in a curse,
Falling too hard, and always falling first.
Maybe it’s the way I love,
Maybe love isn’t meant for me,
But is it so wrong to want it, to want to be seen?
Let this curse be undone, let there be a turn,
Shift the stars, change the script,
Let the love I give finally return.
For once, let it be me who’s found,
The one who's chosen, the one unbound.

Unwanted Spell
Self Nov 2024
I see you with your friends,
you blend in so well.
Hating you is my guard,
loving you is a spell.
These feelings won’t end,
I can’t set them free,
I climbed so high,
why did I fall so deep?

Chasing Silence
Self Nov 2024
Why can’t I escape you?
You’re always close, it seems,
A shadow in the stillness,
A whisper in my dreams.
I try to leave, to heal,
But you’re there in the quiet,
A piece of me I lost,
A weight I can’t deny it.

Echoes of You
Self Nov 2024
Why can't I forget you,
Why are you always near.
Every time I’m moving on,
you suddenly appear.
Like a shadow in the night,
you follow close behind,
A reminder of what’s lost,
a piece I can't unwind.

When Distance Fails
Self Oct 2024
Distance makes the heart grow fonder,
or at least that's what they say.
But they never warned me you'd move on,
while I’m still stuck here today.

Time Can't Heal Scars
Self Oct 2024
They say time heals all wounds,
and I suppose that’s true,
But how do I heal the scars
that always remind me of you?

I love you hate me
Self Oct 2024
I love it when you make me laugh,
but I hate it when you make me cry.
I love it when you tell me you love me,
but I hate it when you lie.
I love it when we talk,
but I hate it when we fight.
I love to never see you again,
but I hate to imagine a world where we don't collide.

Despair of Limerence
Self Oct 2024
The last time I texted him,
the flowers were growing,
I'm still waiting for his reply,
and now it started snowing,
I won't give up,
I still have faith,
but even the strongest leaves fall
when they're made to wait.
I'm on my knees hoping he'll come back,
knowing **** well it's not meant to be,
but I'm not ready to raise the white flag yet.
Some would say it's love,
others say it's ignorance,
but it's none of the above,
it's a despair of limerence,
a lie in my head,
a fantasy of what could have been said.

When It's Dark, I Shine
Self Oct 2024
I never dared to come closer,
maybe I've always known,
that you would run back to her
and leave me all alone.
She shines as bright as the sun
and you're full of life like the earth,
but the moon only appears when it's dark,
when it's light has it's worth.
