no matter how hard we try
some people are just not meant to be in our lives
wondering if sound escapes heart
if voice will become foreign again, a new soul again,
stretch these wings for the first time,
deeply inhale madness, for the first time,
recognize Blue, for the first time, sadness, too, or
reluctance, soft, tickling agony,
radiating,
as being woven in a nightmare, loose thoughts, I,
cannot breathe, loose thoughts, growing pains,

swell in the belly, void fear,
swell in the heart, too, he is not here,
so faint, we become, bruising our elbows,
gathering tongues with strangers,
heart's silence echoes,
truth glistens, in the rain, tear showers,
seedlings find themselves crawling
back down in the rabbit hole, again, devour

As we whirl around the darkened room
The dust swirls with us
Creating a cloud to protect us
From the flames and smoke
I grasp tighter to you
My fingers curling into your jacket
But you
Loosen your hold
Letting me drift out of the cloud
It's then I realise
My dear
We're slow dancing in a burning room

You asked me if I loved you.
I didn't know how to reply
seeing that I don't know
what love is just yet.

You told me that you loved me
so I should love you back
and I don't think that's how it
works.

You told me that you
accepted me,
that no one else would
that I would be alone
without you.

Just because you accepted someone
does not mean you love them
because if it did then I would
love so many people.
And I know others accept me,
that I won't be alone if you
leave.

But let me ask you something.
How was I,
a sad little girl,
supposed to love you
when she couldn't
even love
herself?
Its the times Im alone that i fear the ghost of you.

I cant wash the sins out of my hair

or the rising betrayal in my heart

I cant afford you.

instead I watch you shimmer.

now theres quiet
its the reddening sky
all the birds are silent
they must all be in awe
or just as confused as I
daylight almost all night
then the Sun peeks more and more
lightening up the whole place brighter and brighter
