Close your eyes
count backwards from fifty
Asleep you shall fall
Surely, but swiftly

If that doesn't work
It's okay, don't despair
Count imaginary sheep
As they leap through the air

You need to catch some z's
Your body is tired
Ignore the mere fact
That your mind is so wired

Oxygenate your cells
Don't worry, just breathe
Feeling relaxed yet?
Soon you'll drift to the land of dream

What's that? You're still up?
Perhaps you're just parched
Grab a quick glass of water
Then back to bed you shall march

As long as you're up
Might as well make a snack
Digestion should wear you
As the food makes way through your tract

You've wasted enough time
Now back to your slumber
Collapse onto the mattress
Slide under the covers

Each day you face your demons
Though at times it feels you're not winning
Inhale, exhale slowly
Now let's start again from the beginning

This life is a recondite transit
Where our paths might be unknown
We would stop  at varied crossroads
When confused at those strange zones

The sky each day may differ
There could be sun,  there could be rain
It could be blue or could be orange
But on the next pace,  it could be grey

And if ever the times get harsh
That we might stumble and fall
Just remember we're not alone
In going through tight bouts at all

Life is a creek of promises
Springing from heavens above
The rain of life will flow on us
We should welcome the gift of love

But like a battlefield we know
What we purport is to survive
In this platform of test and ventures
After each fall,  we must revive

Life is survival of the fittest
The world is a precarious place
Don't be that weak who cannot soar
Be like an eagle, conquer the space.
For  the  "TEN WORDS I GIVE" CONTEST where I have to use the following words in  poem:
STOP
ORANGE
GREY
STUMBLE
CREEK
HEAVENS
BATTLEFIELD
PLATFORM
WEAK
EAGLE

Thanks for the inspiration....no writer's block this time. :)

Tears roll down my eyes
Every time I think of the memories we've left behind
From sharing all my messy thoughts to finding a girl for you
How hard this feeling caught me
Before I could free myself, I was into you
Going through those odd letters we wrote for each other
The times we spent ranting, I fell for you

Our friendship turned into something beautiful
Oblivious to the things taking place, you gave me a fairytale
Quite often I wondered if it's for real
But, you said that I deserved this

After spending all the happy time,
And giving me a box full of memoirs
You were gone
It was as if seasons are changing, rapidly
There's rain
Leaves are falling now
Flowers are blossoming then
I feel cold, I feel hot
I didn't know what to do

Who do I go to?
You were my best friend
And I lost you
Those three words ruined everything

Train ride

PS
The trees are rushing by
as we're headed towards the setting sun
- full speed, next stop: Horizon!

A smell in the air
- I'd be able to pick it out anywhere -
of moonflower and lavender,
a hint of citrus
soft, soothing and a spark
of adventure

Images are flashing by
like the landscape beyond the glass
my mind is a blur
my eyes fixed on the fiery sun
- fighting for her place among the clouds

A voice is singing
about regret and lost chances
sad and full of sorrow

Memories are popping up
from the foggy mind:

Words that should have made their way to the lips
- and those better left unsaid

There's faces of lost love
- and those that should have been caressed
instead of being turned away

As I look upon the lake outside
Its waters still as a mirror
- reflecting the dusky sky -
despite our passing speed
I cannot help but wonder
whether all my decisions were
- in the end -
the right ones
leading me to all those wondrous places.

I don't regret a single thing
Because the train is only moving forward
and there's none scheduled
for the past.
I love train rides and the melancholy feeling that goes along with them - the song that was playing was Adele's Million Years Ago

You might find this tid bit
A bit hard to believe
But I swear my cat sees thing
That I ain't never seen

I'm thinking that it's spirits
Floating all around
You can most often tell
With her constant peculiar meows

She'll sit there and she'll stare
At one spot to no end
It seems to me it must be the dead
As sure as I now live

Or when she ups and jumps
Batting at nothing but thin air
I doubt that it's the micro dust
But rather the spirits floating there

I know that all cats automatically come
With a total of nine lives
Which leaves me to often wonder
How many live on the other side

Yes, my cat sees ghosts
But you would never know
Cause she seems to see the strangest things
That no human eye could ever hope

Alexander Graham
Rang a Bell when he said
Mr. Watson, come here
In 1876

With no earthly idea
Of what was to come
How we live today
With cell phones up our butts

Wherever you turn
Someone's talking or texting
At every red light
While the green one is resting

And let's not forget
The in your ear bluetooth craze
People talking out loud to themselves
Like we all care what they say

Or out and about
At a table for four
Where each cell phone in hand
Is the only thing not ignored

It does make you wonder
What Alexander would do
If he saw his seed planted
Producing this rotten fruit

Perhaps then Alexander Graham
Would ring that Bell in history
And say Mr. Watson, come here
Help me destroy this thing!
Today back in history Alexander Graham Bell made the first phone call.... Thanks a lot dude!
