FEELING

Feeling is tactile
not an abstraction
each draws a picture
in translation.

when will someone finally say
that they LIKE being quarantined?

There must be somebody -
anchorite,
stylite,
monastic,
isolationist,
people who would rather stay six light years
than six feet apart.

Tell me how impossibly far away from me
you want to be, baby;
ooh, yeah, I'm getting unexcited.

Maybe we can talk
Maybe video call
Or see each other
Or somehow keep in contact with each other
I miss you

i bet she looks so innocent.
i bet she even looks like me.
i bet you made her feel loved.
i bet you gave her hope.
i bet you said you loved her.
and i bet,
maybe,
just maybe,
you hurt her too.

My vow isn’t about happiness
But it’s promising love
Where lies 1001 senses
That a heart could taste.

I tell my secrets to children
in the form of fairy tales
A "Once upon a time," is enough
to quiet down their wails
and I spin stories as well as spiders
weaving webs that a lost child
must navigate the tangled trails
with cleverness and wit
sharper than any sword
more accurate than any arrow
I speak of children who questioned
the established path of rejection
and this misguided idea of reciprocity,
"You must suffer because it happened to me."
Because my blessing in life was not brute strength
but a clear mind and clever tongue.
I tell my secrets to children
so that they may grow smarter because of them.
