I painted rainbows to cover
the storm clouds
claimed my tears were quicksilver
if only
to choke on that slippery lie
I whisper when they look too closely
"I'm fine, really".

emru
my mood shifts, drifts till im worn out
my brain ‘bout to check-out, my art a vain, pierces through my heart, cheerless atmosphere, stuck like glue
The scariest part of abuse
Is you always think
Well that's can't possibly be me
As you lay there

Bright orange
liquid served

in a wavy
glass bottle

so sweet
tangy
and tingly

riding its way
down
your gullet

like pounding surf

what memories

of such a crude
but tasty delight

and of a sunny
long lost

California afternoon
 Jul 2019 Hi It's Haliyah
CNM
Weeks rolling in and out of bed, eventually the blankets become rough
But under them I remain, my skin rubbing off in sheets
And pillows stained with drool and ash and milky tears
The bed sticks to me, engulfs me
As if i were to leave, i'd leave pieces of me
Like a decomposed corpse
Left hidden in an abandoned home
With no one to find me full of maggots
With no one to clean me up
And put me neatly in a wooden box
So I can finally rest
 Jul 2019 Hi It's Haliyah
basil
read my words.
not because i want you to, but because i want you to know my mind.

i hope that one day,
you’ll find
someone that loves you better than i,
someone that you won’t comfort with lies.

read my words,
read my lips.

i miss the way you grabbed my hips.
i miss the way you'd kiss me.

and my,
oh my!
to think of what we could have been!

read my words,
because i want you to know.

i love everything about you.
from your head
to your toes.

i want you to know
my mind.
