In this short life
With these long days
Time just seems to go
When you decide to stay

A spoonful of honey to engage my tongue
And the rest of the healing has ever since begun

I heard a story about you once
Flooding out of someone at else's mouth
About all kinds of details I've never notice before
And it made me question the you I thought I saw
They brought up secrets they thought you were hiding
And if they weren't so convincing I'd think they were lying

I wish my days would end in peace
Not in a rummaging of details I picked up along my way out and back into bed
And the silence was a ferry to sleep
Not an open sea raging again in against the shores of my head

How horrible and happy life is all together
How privileged you are to remember both together
A little bit of patience, barely spanning a meter
To sustain a tiny candle light in the heart of winter
Be still little heart
The summer is almost here
Then the reaping will start
Just as the dew reappears...

Today is a day like any other could be
And tomorrow will be the same as today should be
If I was rich in the grand scheme of this
It couldn't make a day any more than it is
With just a penny to my name
A day is a day all the same
If I prayed for rain
And it actually came
Wouldn't cause a day to be any more bliss
Though a bit wet, with the cold and the mist
If the sun were to shine
As it often does at times
The day would still be just that
When you left it behind
So a day is a day
I figured that to be right
I've got far more to say
About the ever changing night...

Lets share some beers
To cut the tears
And leave the day behind us

In the morning we'll chat
About the riff and the raff
But for get beer inside us
