   If the essence of words
   we can't  trust fully
   how else can we live
   meaningfully?

I watch the hues
Full of pinks, orange, and fervor
Set behind
the man-made mountain
So quick, so easy
It was for it to disappear

As I turn around,
the widowed moon
Rising from her sleep
Shades of rose and white
Reflecting off of her presence

Wise in the ways
of comfort and compassion
She brings light to the tears
Of the people
Also left in the dark

Don't study others
so much
that you forget
to study yourself
and have your life
ending miserably
in a grievous mess

my fear
of mediocrity
sabotages
every opportunity
i have
of leaving it.

I'm sorry, mum
That you went through all that pain
To bring me into life
For me to just waste away
And wish I wasn't alive
