The Man Born Blind

We are all born blind, and stumble through our lives
In darkness lost along the River Styx
While clinging to our long-accustomed fear
As if it were a rule to be obeyed

The light is offered, then usually denied
As if it were yet another cruel joke
Long promised and then suddenly yanked away
More lost hopes rotting among the mouldering leaves

For some the obscure is more comfortable
Than promised light that never seems to shine
Deep down,
In the darkest depths of despair,
You’ll find me living there.
Sweet Winterberry
Born in a womb of glaciers
Fall on my tongue crisp

Sweet Winterberry
Feel the kiss of the sunshine
As rainwashed is pure

Sweet Winterberry
Plucked and baked into **** pies
Tendrils of warmth blossom
Some haikus from my journal.
Light it up
I’m never enough
Burn it down
To the ground
Smoke and flames
Done playing your games
But like fire, there was always a catch
Lit a match
But never a spark,
So I started a fire... light in the dark
Everyday with you
Is a day I make it through
We couldn’t be more close-knit,
We’re a perfect fit
You breathe life into me
Like oxygen from a tree
To my heart, you have the key
I can’t leave you be
I promised to never lie
Since, weeks and months have gone by
Now, you don’t have to β€œstay high”
Take my heart, it’s not to buy
Once you understand
Once you comprehend
I will love you to β€˜till the end
I’ll be your forever friend
You make me
Look like a fool
But over you, I drool
For your burdens, I’m a mule
You used me as a tool
Should have known
You’d be cruel.
Mind over matter
She won't be told
Won't be thrown
Born a lion
So, reliant and defiant
Standing amongst the great giants
Asking let me be me
Let me speak, let me reach my peak
You're on fire
Green light, take flight
One life
Go faster
