Time With Her
Dez Apr 2020
The awkward ness is real
Whenever you are near
But you don’t seem to notice
But I am always stumbling of my words
Asking stupid questions
Like what do you think of birds
You just smile and laugh
And I try to stand
As you just hold my hand
Then when the night falls
We walk the halls
And I listen to you talk
Of how you want to travel
But you have to wait
For the rest of your life to unravel
And as the hour is late
I take you home
And I am left alone
But your words are left in my head
And as I am lying in this bed
All I can think about is you
But do you think of me?

Short
Dez Mar 2020
Short poems are the best
For they get their point across
And don't dilly dally in the extra stuff
I wish I could write one
But every thing I try to say
Comes out in such a fanciful way?

I once walked open
Dez Apr 2020
I once walked open
Always hopin
You told me to dream big
And one day I won’t have to dig
You told me to shoot for the stars
But all I got was scars
I’m done listening to you world
For all my secrets you unfurled

Ironic #1
Dez Apr 2020
I tried to help when I heard a cry
But when I tried fly
I tuned and saw those I want to save from the attack
Were the ones holding me back

Rise
Dez Mar 2020
As the sun rises,
Man reaches,
But only those who rise like the sun
Will be able to touch what they are reaching for.

Impact
Dez Mar 2020
An impact is made by great things
When it comes to human beings
There are two types of these
The first would be one voice, very great
But the other is quite smALL
But it’s in the “all” that does make it great
For a thousand voices do make a great impression
Just as one voice my stir many with passion.
So which shall this lowly poet seek to gain?
To speak with such great passion that I do stand alone
Or should I rally thousands to help condone
Whatever is in their hearts to speak to others what they don’t know.

Strive for you
Dez Mar 2020
I do strive for you
And you alone.
Though all I am is flesh and bone
I will battle the world for you alone
Though my strength is small
And my manners not fit for a ball
I would dance my heart out and call
For you to be my sweet, sweet doll
I know my rhymes are lame
But you are such a dame
That I could not but name
All that I would do
If I could simply have you!

So I do strive for you
And you alone.
Though you may come
From above and I am but ****
But I will try not to be so dumb
Yet my heart is as a drum
But it seeks a rhythm
And it is a song of love that I hope to hum
But that is to you
If you decide to be my bride.

When I am heartbroken
Dez Apr 2020
My heart
It fell apart
Looking at it now
I wonder how
It could ever be called art

For people have spoken
That you can be beautifully broken
But I fail to see
how this could be
For I feel like a mess when I am heartbroken

The Damsel
Dez Mar 2020
Well hello, she said to me,
And the thought that we could be
Did cross my mind but I could see
That it was just a dream.
But what if not!
Could it be?
That she could be
Standing here,
Next to me!
Yet how could I?
A poor of the poor
Be with this dear damsel?
Though I work
And often break my back
I get no slack
And never should I expect,
The very thought a reck,
That I might spend eternity
With this damsel of sovereignty!
Yet there she stood
As lovely as a misty wood
So full of life
So full of laughter
(And yet I was growing hotter)
And there was I a blessed *******
For it was her that I did see
And though life moved on
It was her I did lead on
To see the sights
And all the pleasantries.
As soon as I did bow to kiss
That damsel I loved best
The damming sun did warm my cheek
And I sat up staring
Almost quaking
For the thoughts I had were not in waking
But were in my sleeping!
Then did I almost weep
For I was in a deep, deep sleep
And the cursed sun did raise my head
From my dream and from my bed
And most of all away from the dove
That I did love.

Mad
Dez Mar 2020
Mad
Don’t call me a mad man
I am just an alert man.
Aware of all my senses
I will take those as offenses
But if I was mad
Would I not deny it?
Maybe I am bad,
But aren’t we all just a bit?

Passion fills, in some it kills and in others it heals
But it all depends on what your passion deals with.

Thanks For Reading
Dez Mar 2020
Many a poem have I uttered
Many a story have I muttered
For I have a bit to
To flit and flutter about
Many would say I’m dull
And others would still spout
That I should mull
Over what I write about.
For in speed these words do flow.
And these lines do come with ease
I mean not to tease
For I think my work is of low degrees.
But thank you for I am pleased
That you think my work has qualities
And modest vibrancy.

Words of Caution
Dez Mar 2020
Thou foolish tongue
What hast thou done
Thou are small
But mightier than some great and tall
Thou hast lit many a fire
Because of which some do call me a liar
I confess I am but I mean not to
For nothing good does come when I do.
Though in the moment I forget
And now, oh, how I do regret!
The foul words I did utter
They do slip out like butter
“Hasten hither” I do mutter
But it is in vain to call them back
And wish that I had not lacked
In the giving of slack
to the brother that did stutter.
So take heed
least you indeed
Fall into the same trouble
In not being humble.

Question
Dez Mar 2020
Can you relate
To the people you do hate?
Are you like them in some small way?
Or are you so resentful that you always turn away?
Pause a moment and check and see
If all of this might be
A thing you fail to see
Because its not without
But rather it's inside of people like you and me?

Should All Be Great
Dez Mar 2020
If God made all to be great
Then why would you hate?
It is because you can't see
That you tend to be
In this state of seeing
Others and coveting
Their powers
When in truth
You have not touched
What God gave you!

New style?
Dez Mar 2020
Told am I to try something new
I am not sure how it will go
But I am willing to try
So here goes nothing
I’m rhyming without any teachers
Or any help
I’m on my own
I hope you like what I write
But if not thanks for reading
At least you gave it a chance.

See
Dez Mar 2020
See
Coming and going my life is blowing
around about the trees I am in the leaves
You can not feel me
I am he who does tease
Never harsh
I am still as a marsh
I am not, and yet I am
Canst thou guess who I am?
My name is one and is quite well known
Children fear me when they are alone
Yet I am always present
save in the presents of he who is omnipresent
Behind the stars, I like to lie
And in the shadows of people passing by
I love the night
and do hate the light
If you have not guessed
It might be for the best
For me to share my name
It is darkness.
Now can you see?
