curling confetti
   litters like cleavers
      ‘neath ***-bound lungs
outgrowing his ribcage
     she shoots
           unrestrained
                rambling t’ward
         a celandine sun
If we taught tolerance instead of fear,
how many lives would we have spared this year?

If we taught acceptance instead of hate,
if we taught kids to commiserate,
to see what others have on their plate,
that would make America great.
I don't know where we wander to
The day we close our eyes
Until that day we meet again,
I'll see you in the skies.

I'll see you in the morning dawn
That crests the mountain tops.
I'll find you in the sunset where
The tired sun does drop.

On dove grey days where rain drops fall
To kiss the arid earth,
I'll know you in the soothing rain
And feel you endless worth.

And when the cobalt skyline
Fades and fills with stars,
I'll sit beneath the summer moon
To pass our time apart.
