Chelsey Bricker May 2021
Shifting bruises in unswept dust
Summer whispers to trees untouched
A wind-swept melody
runs through sun-baked weeds
Amber roots seep steadily
Staining the driftless sky
Chelsey Bricker Sep 2020
The smooth hot breath
of summer dances on her skin
A warm metallic fragrance
soaked into her tongue
as electricity pulsed
in the lingering humidity
Rolling embers illuminated
the midnight sky
The still darkness
hummed and sparked
Suffocating the timid
roars of thunder
Chelsey Bricker Sep 2020
Pulsing sunlight radiating
an incandescent halo
above her crown
of long white-blond hair
Chelsey Bricker Sep 2020
A wildflower
growing on outskirts
Standing tall in
thick warm air
soaking in sunshine
so completely unaware
A lone stoke
ripping through canvas
unnoticed &
unannounced
