There once was a man
Who stayed up all night
Fishing for hope at the end of a string.
The man got a bite
And he reeled it in tight
To find the line had broke in the spring.
The night became day
With the Sun's painted display
And he started to head back home.
With a tackle at side
And a pale of dreams dried
Fishing wasn't for him anyway.

The Crimson sunset
Kissing the blazing skyline
A bleeding palette

there was the sun.
brighter than anyone could believe,
passionate with its fire.

and the moon.
a sentimental romantic,
with a wild shimmer.

the moon lusted the luminescent brilliance of the day,
the sun fell for the vivacious spark of night,
and soon the two fell deeply in love.

now the sun had a fate,
a generational inevitability,
of an almighty “solar eclipse.”

solicitous about the phase to come,
as the vibrant colors of blood red
occupied their minds

fret none, said the sun,
for i rise and set for you, my dear,
perhaps the “solar eclipse” may not transpire at all.

but it did.
and the moon did nothing but stand in the way,
as the sun relished in the luminescent glory.

and just like any crossing of paths,
the eclipse came to an end,
and they went their separate ways.

Had I once been able to see through those eyes,
All that’s hidden in contemptible lies,

I would have known not to get clashed in,
To that brutal ‘street’ of such cold-blooded compassion.

But it is not to the eyes that one would suspect,
What a deep sword in the back two confidants could inject.

Instilled my impeccable faith, friendship- Love even,
Yet such a confiding fault of my own for once believin’

That a rearing so heavy on pompousness and asset,
Could teach fidelity with a sensible mindset!

Now these cutting words, incased in lies,
Leave a sickening pit betwixt my stomach, in a jealous disguise.

Nothing left but wondrous memories turned to dust,
As I rip up the pictures in utter disgust.

But I stop myself and then realize,
That by pursuing this grief, a piece of me dies.

So live and let go, wipe the tears that I shed,
There are faithful crowds I have yet to equate,

And a promising future ahead.
