You were saying someone's name.
But it was not mine.
Silver Jan 2019
eyelids are heavy like
weights dropping on your toes.
sleep and thoughts are formidable foes.
but meanwhile in the haze i can't feel my nose.
yeah.
i guess it goes and goes.

they tell me
that late at night
when sleep has taken me
to mysterious places
that I am still whispering
your name
into my pillow.

Good morning secret readers
I'd like to tell
of something I saw pass my window
last night.

Last night
though a moonless night
was fret with strange rumblings
and pitter patterings
all about my house.
Pah, was it a mouse?
No, it was my spouse
lit up from her sleep
by who knows what, but
she was spinning
there mumbling
in a sleeptalk.

And she says, and she says to me
"Arlia, my husband,
over the many years you have done me
no misfavor, but I would like to
request a simple repose
away from the stink of your feet.
I, for the life of you,
could never tell you myself.
Love,
the nose."

And just then, I noticed
the bell of a great brass horn
leave my room through the window;
it had been there all along.
Confused, I leapt
to see who was now snickering:
a fat fairy baby who had been
singing mischief into my dreams.
Fat fairy! Thanks
to you, I dip my
feet in Epsom salt...

Can i shut off the consciousness frequency
The non resting voice lamenting
About choices i don't wanna revisit
Never rest even when i sleep
I just have to sleeptalk about it
Cause it's like you left
With no plan of returning
Into the dark deep abyss
Drew a veil over life
They now say you ain't no more
But the memories are so fresh
I don't understand what they say.

Can i rewind the tape all the way back
When it was all about innocence
When i never knew how to lose
When i never felt guilty of choices
Not mine to make
Can i get it all back from the start
All the happiness that was
You be so rude 2019
Promise to care.
