"advertisments" poems
I’ve moved countries. I’ve moved, and it’s the little differences that remind me of this. It’s not the massive skyscrapers and old town squares, the gray skies and cold weather (oh so different from the heat of skin on skin I’m used to) It’s not the fast paced life and sounds of a foreign tongue surrounding me It’s the little things, like the subtle quietness of my apartment, and the clack of heels on the floor above me, the waterfall of TV advertisments, It’s the sense of loneliness and the nostalgia of your touch It’s how I forgot the colour of your eyes, and the shape of your nose, your crooked smile and heartfelt laugh I don’t miss my country, I’m missing all the aspects of you that are still locked back there.

Poem #39
When Black friday shows, so will the sheep. And although, they all know their wallets to reap, they continue to buy and shout why god oh why am i broke and getting no sleep?

lateeeee news flash
My brain splatters as I try to make sense of this. It doesnt last long and shuts down. The dwindling thumb A snoring girl One annunciating talk show host Advertisments for genuine authentic Italian cuisine News stories that have no endings Perpetual cycles of hell She is snoring after a long day of being sick The pain stretches to my wrist "You feed your mind You feed your body You feed your soul The balance beings peace The balance brings joy The balance brings growth." My imaginary Grandmother whispers to me. Cued laughter from the audience These shows are like used car sales There's a poet I know who has to piddle that **** to the public. I don't think she minds too much but I hope it doesn't **** her writing. The dead speak to us louder when the order of our day is in disarray. People at work are depressed, the moral of the story lost and we're drifting. Then the shock and the horror This time of the year is already hard on everyone trying to fulfill imaginary expectations of what other people want. This is modern expressions of love. The wish to provide a material manifestation of warmth, desire, and embrace. Maybe a hug will do. And the actions of consistency and peace. An old friend

W.I.P #09 Stint Shift, i
I listen to the mid-day news wondering vaguely why it sounds so familiar more or less like what I heard this morning we know that repetition is a major didactic principle yet lately it seems to have become the dominant discourse not only in the news but also in discussions, panels, pop songs advertisments, etc. as if repeating things over and over again made them ‚more‘ true

repetition
why is it that we grow up learning what they want us to learn. we are to conform. why is it that we grow up thinking what they want us to think. we are to not ask questions. why is it that we grow up knowing what they want us to know. we are to accept this. without questioning why we must learn this why we must think this why we must know this. school. religion. work. tv. advertisments. internet. food. consumer products. we are all brainwashed to do what they want us to do to act how they want us to act to say what they want us to say to know what they want us to know to think what they want us to think to believe what they want us to believe we need to learn how to be free to believe what we want to believe to think what we want to think to know what we want to know to say what we want to say to act how we want to act to do what we want to do to be us. be you. - mk
