Days under the pull;
Moon tugging at my soul;
Pulling me further away;
Dazzling nothing;
Coolness in the heat of rush;
Deep solitude sweeps around;
With the lush quiet of calm.

I am
As I am
No more
No less
And today
It will do

From now on, let's meet in dreams in order to let go of all ties to the real world, to avoid everyone's malicious gaze for all time, and to float endlessly in the sea of joyous poetry.
I am too old for this reckoning,
I am too old NOT to reckon
     with past promises,
     Of life outside myself-
The shadows call me home,
yet where exactly do I land ?

Only words define the substance
   of Art, Growth, Humanity itself;
I dare to tell tales of which I know
    very little,
But imagining them is how
   I conquer fears,
   create escapes,
Follow my own footsteps through
a tunnel of RECKONING--and REPOSE.
Dedicated to the Youth Poet Laureate Amanda Gorman who recited her piece, "Call Us What We Carry" at Pres. Joe Biden's Inaugural Ceremony. I tried to write as if it were Amanda herself speaking to us, in her own unique voice.
I am unwell,
Have a slight headache--
I should sleep--
But for some reason I keep awake
Thinking of you,
Drowning in my feelings, suffocating under the pressure of my uncontrollable emotions--
Rationally looking at this, it should make no difference in me trying to sink into your depths--
For I am here and you are not,
Yet I keep awake talking about you to this oblivious Night--
I should... probably sleep?

Only with you
can time stretch forever
where it feels
like an endless walk
circling the Earth

Round and round we go
like giggling children,
heightening our
senses to new altitudes.....

Dizzy,
we gaze into
each other's eyes,
exploring the depths
of gravity's absence

Floating,
we pass the
city's evening moon
listening for the
echoing sounds of
Saturn spinning...

She says The moon
Must be my mother
Because I’m so amorous
I keep her heart smiling

I’ve told her that
The Sun must be her father
Because she’s always  beautifully
Bright and warm
I can only see the sun though her eyes

It’s undeniable
This love of ours is out of this world
But the earth keeps us grounded

Nonetheless
With over seven billion Souls
Spinning in circles like ceiling fans
Under the blue sky

Still,
We’ve chosen each other
To watch over each other’s back
Like Bonnie and Clyde

Though
Only through love
Without the killings

Nonetheless,
I swear I would die for her
