Fourteen years ago when I held you in my arms, it seemed surreal. So fragile you were and like a tiny doll. Only God knows how much I miss being able to pick you up and hug you tightly close to my heart whenever I feel depressed.
And yet I love you now all the more. You are so special to me and always shall be. Our family has shared so many joys and so much heartbreak through the swiftly passing years.
You are sunshine and daybreak and iridescent rainbow hues.
The baby has been replaced with a very special friend.

Happy Birthday Sweet Daughter!

Much Love,
From Your Mother

I sit here watching the rain fall*
from dark grey clouds
wondering if the sky might
be crying for us…

As I think back to what we were,
our times kissing in a rain just like this
an unopened umbrella
and both becoming drenched
in our feelings for one another

The plans we made
for quiet Sunday mornings
lying in bed gazing into each other’s eyes,
arms wrapped tightly as a new sun rose
while we were lost in deep affection

I picture the desires we shared, our dreams
of those late nights, an empty office
a sleepy city skyline, silhouettes on the evening
as we learned what true love meant
in breathless encounters

Our song, we could sing it by heart
Each word in perfect harmony
with you and me
How we believed it was written for us
and it probably was

The love, I still feel that love and always will,
a love beyond anything else
A love we both agreed was more
than we had ever felt before,
twin flames, soul mates, a perfect love…now ended

And I sit here watching the rain fall
from dark grey clouds
wondering if the sky might
be crying for us…
*I guess it could be
Still hoping for the sun
Matt, why didn't you talk to someone?
Why didn't tell a friend how you were feeling?
You could have let out all the sadness
You could have stayed, you could still be here

Matt, your mom is broken
She cries a lot
She wonders about you
She misses you
I miss you

Matt, your little brother is struggling
He doesn't smile as much
And his eyes tell you that he's seen too much
Ryan needs you

*Matt, I need you
Why did you have to go?
Words that penetrate
The illusionary world of time
Creating a whirlwind
Feelings within the words
Creates an upheaval
Time itself cannot stand still
Words have the power
To travel beyond the known
Spiraling around the core
Of the world of consciousness
Bringing the unknown
Out of the shields of anonymity
For all to savor
Poet has the power to create
From nothing, starts the saga
Reaching a crescendo
Poetry uproots the sedentary minds
To a new realm of understanding
Words that are immortal

jerely
the sun starts to roll up in the sky
missing out the moon when dark replace to day
it's another time to begin
greets you with a bright smile to wake up
warm you, embrace you
& gives you light to positive ways.
a little bit shy when evening strikes again.

i saw a man
shot in a bar
while having a
shot in a bar
would he still be here
if he'd ordered a beer
instead of a shot in a bar?
