If you see me with this big white notebook in my arms
it's because I can't get you off my mind
and I want to write down
every stupid poem that I think of
just in case it's a masterpiece
I still haven't stopped thinking about him.

Walt Whitman
Whispers of heavenly death, murmur’d I hear;
Labial gossip of night—sibilant chorals;
Footsteps gently ascending—mystical breezes, wafted soft and low;
Ripples of unseen rivers—tides of a current, flowing, forever flowing;
(Or is it the plashing of tears? the measureless waters of human tears?)

I see, just see, skyward, great cloud-masses;
Mournfully, slowly they roll, silently swelling and mixing;
With, at times, a half-dimm’d, sadden’d, far-off star,
Appearing and disappearing.

(Some parturition, rather—some solemn, immortal birth:
On the frontiers, to eyes impenetrable,
Some Soul is passing over.)

His beauty takes my breath away
He has no idea how he looks when he sits with his guitar and begins to play
Long hair curling on his neck,
The sight makes me hold my breath.
I know he's leaving one day soon,
Maybe tomorrow or next week
maybe not till the full moon.
I enjoy every minute like it may be our last
He never stays long...
Now it's the past

Saying goodbye
To someone you love
Is like reading the final page
Of an amazing book.

As the last chapter ends
You begin to notice
Just how beautiful
And perfect
The plot always was.

You appreciate the joy
And even the pain
As you read and thumb
Through every page.

Finally understanding
The moral of the story,
You realize you've reached
The end of this journey.

Although the last sentence
Is the most difficult to read
Another great book awaits
Once you turn the final page.

Eventually you may stumble
Upon yet another great find.
Or maybe you'll return
To the book you left behind.

You may just discover
Once all is said and done
That this particular book
Was your favorite story
All along.

They say to
write what you know
but I'm just so
sick of
tragedies

There are many
words of advice
I could give you:
Trust those who deserve it.
Be honest,
but never cruel.
Do not allow yourself
to be pushed around.
Do not be afraid
to stand for something.
Take time to understand
before rushing to judge.

But above all else,
I would say this;
forgive yourself.
It is not your fault
that the world is harsh,
that lovers leave,
that cold hearts
so often prevail
over the pure.
*Forgive yourself.
